“This isn’t the time to keep me in suspense Victoria. This could be very serious, do you understand?”
I had not heard Brooke speak like that before. It was the closest she had come to acknowledge the fact we were not really two young sisters starting an exciting new life in San Jose since we left the safe house.
“I’m sorry. It’s just that boy.”
Brooke didn’t look concerned anymore. She had a smile plastered across her face.

I felt my cheeks burning as I blushed fiercely
