Karl Shows He Can Humiliate Himself
He finally saw her in the distance; he’d been waiting by Asha’s car for the past ten minutes, hoping that she’d show up before he got completely soaked. He’d stupidly left his umbrella in his own car, which was about fifty yards away on the other side of the parking lot. He didn’t want to miss her if he fetched it, but the rain had started five minutes ago and now it was getting pretty heavy. Then finally he saw her walking briskly across the lot toward him, an umbrella over her head. From twenty yards away she noticed him. She was talking on her cell phone, holding the umbrella in the other hand. As she stepped up to her car she had a puzzled expression on her face, but she kept talking on the phone and staring at Karl.
