Chapter Sixteen

Faith It was so warm, wrapped around Dillon’s body as my eyes fluttered open. There was a brief moment of embarrassment when my brain first regained consciousness and then my body just seemed to relax against him. I hadn’t meant to fall asleep with my face against his shoulder but we were fully dressed. And nothing had happened. Not even a kiss. He had just been there for me. Comforting , his voice soothing away my fears as we spoke for hours on end. His arm slung around my shoulders and the comforter pulled up to our waists. It had been…. Nice. No it had been more than nice. It had felt normal , like this was how my life was meant to be. Which was strange seeing how Dillon , along with the rest of the Sins were the exact opposite to the guys I usually went for. Maybe that said more about me than it did them? Maybe I had been a judgemental fool? “Morning” His hand squeezed at my hip drawing my attention down to his face. Even just awake as he was , he was handsome. His blonde hair slightly tousled, brown eyes bright and clear. There were good flecks in the depths of his eyes that I hadn’t noticed before and I leant over him slightly to get a better look. His breath hitched slightly as my breasts pressed against his chest and the innocent moment evaporated. Tension filled the room so thick it was like smoke. His warm breath fanning my face. Minty fresh. How was it fair that he looked like he had just stepped off the cover of a magazine when he just woken up. How was it fair that his breath was fresh whilst I no doubt looked like a troll who had been dragged backwards through a hedge , with the breath of a dumpster to boot. “Hi” I spoke the words softly, acutely aware that our bodies were pressed together, turning my face away slightly so I didn’t breathe the breath of doom straight into his face and make him vomit. “Hello” He repeated again. The hand on my hip tightened slightly. “I’m sorry if I fell asleep last night, you probably wanted your own bed” The words came out in a mixed tumble in my rush to say something. Anything. My brain refusing to function as the feel of his warm body infiltrated my brain. “I am more than happy to wake up next to you each morning Faith” His voice was husky but there was laughter in his dancing gold flecked eyes. They shot downwards and my gaze followed his as they looked down the length of his body. “More than happy” My eyes skidded away, a blush heating my cheeks. Yeah more than happy was an understatement. He chuckled and the sound caused goosebumps to erupt on my arms. “Your blush is adorable” Firm fingers guided my face back to his. “I don’t want to breathe my dragon breath on you” I tried to move my face away from his. And it wasn’t because of my morning breath. No. If he kept looking at me like that I was going to kiss him. “I don’t care” His free hand slid from hip, encircling my body to lay flat on the small of my back. “You will when it melts the skin off your face Dillon” I tried to joke but he didn’t even crack a smile. Several long seconds passed as we did nothing but stare at each other. “I don’t care” The fingers that had been gripping my chin slid across my cheek , moving softly so he was cupping the back of my head in his palm and I knew what was coming. I could see it in the darkening of his eyes, the way they lingered on my lips. “Dillon” “Sash” His full lips slanted over mine, unbelievably soft. It was a gentle kiss, each brush of his lips on mine almost tentative but his hand was firm on the back of my head , keeping me still . Keeping my face close to his. I felt the tip of his tongue trace the seem of my closed lips and that’s when my resolve broke. The sound that I made was half strangled and all list. My hand slid across the hard chest, resting just above his n****e as I moved my body so it was pressed more firmly over his. Opening my mouth to him, I expected him to pounce, to devour my mouth but his kisses remained gentle. His tongue touched mine, and a jolt of electricity swept through me. “Mmm” I tangled my free hand into the thick glossy hair at the top of his head, my breathing turning ragged. I needed … more. And just like that his lips were gone, and my eyes shot open. Why had he stopped? Leaning his forehead heavily on mine he sighed and it was a happy noise. The smile on his face was contented. “Was that ok?” I blinked at him in surprise. Ok? Couldn’t he feel my diamond hard n*****s pressed against his chest? “Faith?” “Yes Dillon it was ok” I made a move as if to pull away and his arms tightened. “Good” “Why did you stop?” His blonde eyebrow arched. “Because we have things to do Faith, and” His finger stroked down my cheek. “And because we have all eternity. There’s no need to rush”
