Dillon
I had expected awe, maybe even an excited squeal or two. What I didn’t expect was her to sway on her feet. So close to fainting I had no choice but to step up to her side, my arm snaking about her waist. She learnt heavily against my side, her breathing shallow and ragged.
“Breathe Faith, just breathe before you hyperventilate” I kept my voice light. No point in freaking her out even more. She was doing a good job of that on her own.
“I .. can’t” Her eyes were wide and panicked in her too pale face.
Shit she was really freaking out. I kind of expected it at some point but not here. I thought she would like my treasure trove. I thought it would make her smile and giggle and not have a mini break down.
Women were strange creatures.
I would never understand them not even if I lived a million years.
“Come on , sure you can” I gripped her a little tighter , my voice joking . “You have been doing it your whole life, just in and out. You know like…” I wiggled my eyebrows at her . My innuendo wasn’t lost on her and she wheezed out the smallest of giggles.
That was better.
I much preferred her laughing and smiling. Her being scared would get old fast.
“I need some air” She tried to pull away, and I watched as the wall went back down.
“Lets get you outside then beautiful, come here” I swooped her up into my arms, cradling her like a child as I made short work of heading back up the stairs, taking them two at a time.
“I can walk Dillon” Her voice was indignant but she didn’t struggle to get from my arms.
“Of course you can, but why walk when you can be carried?” I didn’t even turn to lock the door as we emerged into the castle proper, there was no need. The magic I had put on the place was cool proof. The door would lock and the stairs disappear as soon as I crossed the threshold.
“And I kind of like holding you” I shoulder bumped a side door, there was plenty of them around , some hidden and some like this one just tucked into a corner.
You never knew when you wanted to get out of the castle unseen.
“Dillon” Her cheek was resting right over my heart, “I can feel your heart beating”
I chuckled “I told you Faith, my mother was human. Or did you think I was heartless?”
She blinked up at me with those round eyes as I settled myself on one of the stone benches. It was early. My favourite time to be outside . I didn’t let her move though.
I really , really liked it. A guy could get used to sitting out here in the morning, my beautiful queen firmly on my lap.
“Dillon” Her voice sounded surprised and I had a good idea why.
Smirking down at her I gave her a wink.
“Hey don’t blame me” I shrugged down at her shocked face. “It kind of happens and it’s not the first time my hard on has been pressed against your ass”
She blushed crimson. She had always seen so cocky and sure of herself at school. Quick witted , with a sarcastic reply to everything. But here? Here she was soft and sweet. And totally, utterly out of her comfort zone.
“Those other times were different”
“Why because in the first I had a glorious view of you almost naked?”
“It was my back Dillon, that’s hardly naked”
I laughed, kissing the top of her head. “Naked enough for my imagination to go wild and well the second time we were making our”
“We were kissing , it was hardly making out”
I ignored her. “So don’t blame me if the feel of you sitting on my junk has all the blood rushing south. That’s just what happens when I have a beautiful woman on my lap”
“Bring beautiful women here often do you?”
I hid my smile against her hair , was she jealous? I hoped she was jealous.
“No and none are as beautiful as you anyway”
“You sins are such players” She scrambled off my lap, her face dark and I had no idea what I had said to make her look so angry. “I mean seriously?”
“What just happened?” I had no idea but the anger was pulsing off her in waves. It was almost tangible as she paced back and forth. Eight steps, sharp turn and then eight angry steps back, every now and then she threw angry eyes in my direction. Her face murderous. “Why do you suddenly look like you want to kill me?”
“This isn’t a dream is it?” She whirled hand on her hips as she jutted one out. It was meant to look intimidating I was pretty sure but it just made her look…
Hot.
Dream? We were back to the whole dream thing already?
“I mean you being a total douche never happens in my dreams. In my head you Sins are always sweet and considerate. I am not sure why my brain would make you so …” she waved a hand in my general direction. “Sins like”
I laughed. Sins like? She had thoughts about us way to much. Which was a good sign although I didn’t like her thinking of the others so much.
Greedy that was me. I wanted her entire head to be filled with thoughts of me and me alone.
“This isn’t a dream Faith”
“Yeah I’m starting to get that. Dammit” She stopped dead in front of me. All I had to do was reach out and I could draw her into the trap of my parted knees.
“Real life can be better than dreams Faith” against my better judgement I pulled her closer, burying my face into the cloth that covered her stomach
“ This is a f*****g nightmare” Her hands fell to my shoulders and I felt rather than heard her sigh.
Her words cut trough me like a knife. The f**k?
“Doesn’t have to be Faith”
“You are a good friend Dillon” Her voice sounded far away. “I am glad you are here to help me”
I scowled into her stomach. Friend? Did she really think she was going to put me in the damn friend zone?
Tugging on her legs I made her tumble into my arms. Crushing my lips onto hers before she could make a sound.
I swept my tongue into her mouth and groaned . She tasted of oranges. Fresh and slightly sweet.
Fuck was I about to let her friend zone me. It wasn’t going to happen.
There was a second where she froze and then her tongue met mine, her arms snakes around my neck as she met each swipe of my tongue with hers. Our breath minging as our lips waged war on each other.
“f**k being friends Faith” I pulled her sharply down on my ever hardening d**k and she gasped out against my mouth.
There was no way I was letting her go now.
I was the sin of f*****g greed.
