Step in the Dark

Lyria fell asleep as soon as she was done bathing. The fairies gave her a looser dress so that the fabric would not give more pressure to the wound. Of course,  before that, the fairies had diligently wrapped Lyria's shoulder with a clean cloth to prevent the wound from being overly exposed.  Afterward, Lyria's eyes became heavy. As soon as she reached her bed, her eyelids drooped and slumber took hold of her consciousness.  When she opened her eyes again, the fairies were gone, and it was dark. There were dim candles lighted up at several parts of the room, but it was still dark. Lyria flinched in pain as she was trying to sit up. The pain came from her shoulder and lower abdomen.  She pushed herself to stand. The ruined rocks were still in her room, as well as the enormous gaping hole
