Are we going to do it again?
What we both lost back then?
Are we going to bring back,
What we know we both lack?
.
There you are, knocking on my door,
There you are, saying you want more,
Asking me to accept you a second time.
Telling me you wanted to be mine.
.
Should I believe you this time around?
Will there be pains and aches abound?
What you are willing to put on the line?
Will your sun and my moon finally align?
.
It is tempting to just think,
that we are so close to the brink,
to the life that we want to live
When we both promised not to leave.
.
Even though, admit, my heart won't,
and we know that we don't
Have a future together.
And we're not meant for each other.
.
For my poor and foolish heart's sake,
to avoid the inevitable heartbreak
that we know awaits us both,
I'll gladly jump out of this love boat.
.
What Awaits Us Both
