CHAPTER FIFTEEN The music was blaring. It was some God-awful techno-pop that he could feel in his skull like daggers. He was drinking scotch to dull it but it wasn’t doing any good. In fact, the more he drank, the more he seemed to be able to tolerate the music. He knew that he couldn’t drink much more. He’d already had two and he knew that five was his absolute limit. Not only did he need to be able to drive back home, but he also needed to keep his mind clear. He knew why he was here, but he was already pretty sure it was not going to work. He wanted to forget about the things he’d done over the last week or so. But beyond that, he wanted to move on. He wanted to stop. And that’s why he was here. He figured he might meet someone. No one special, just someone to spend the night with. M
