I saw the startled look in her eyes when she heard my declaration. Obviously, she wasn't expecting that from me. But I knew it would happen, sooner or later.

“It's for the best, Nora. Our bond has been tampered with due to his mark on your neck, and it's only right that we do what needs to be done,” I said, ignoring the ache in my heart.
Everything within me screamed to stop what I was doing, but I turned a deaf ear to it. From the beginning, it was clear that we weren't meant to be together. Firstly, I rejected her at first sight, and when I got to know and fell for her, her sister deceived me and got pregnant. As if that wasn't enough, now that I have the chance to be with her, she's almost slipping out of my hands.
