Nora's POV
Slowly, I opened my eyes, feeling the pain pulsating throughout my body. But the pain that caught my attention the most was the one on the crook of my neck. I reached for it and ran my fingers over the mark, memories flooding my mind like a movie.
"Alpha Leo," I whispered in agony as tears welled up in my eyes.
"He is gone," Lolita responded, her voice filled with sadness. "And Lord Maddison had to mark us as his because of the pain we were both going through." Her words sank in, and I sat on the bed, staring at the empty room. I closed my eyes, attempting to establish a mind link with Alpha Leo, but his signal remained silent. "He is gone," Lolita whispered, and I shook my head in disbelief, unwilling to accept what she was saying.
The door opened, and Lord Maddison walked
