I turn to Elijah in panic.
What do I do now? I don’t know the current protocols when you’re in the presence of royals! I was very young the last time we were at the palace and I don’t even remember much of it because we were not really part of the court, only servants, and back then all I knew were the two most important rules which are ‘Don’t Be Seen’ and ‘Stay Out of the Way’.
Now here we stand at the gate, staring at the royal family’s private car, with several burly warriors surrounding the place and probably many more around the perimeter.
“Well, speak of the devil,” Elijah chuckles, his eyes dancing with unholy amusement, which makes me wonder briefly why he’s not annoyed that his employers are here despite him being on vacation. “The King and Queen are here.”
