CALLUM
"Those damn bastards were spotted again on our lands last night, just when you think they've gotten smarter they go ahead and prove you wrong" growled archer, his voice thick with frustration.
"And we've warned them countless times but it seems they can't keep their filthy paws off our f*****g lands" Bernard adds. His voice low but with enough menace.
"The only thing keeping me from ripping the head's off their f*****g neck's is because of tonight, and they're prancing around knowing damn well we can't do s**t about it" archer continues, running a hand through his hair in aggression.
"Calm yourself.." I spoke up, glancing down to meet his unsteady gaze. He was taller than the average werewolf, but I still had a couple of more inches on him.
"This will not go unpunished, but nothing will happen tonight" I say, my voice firm and final.
"Keep everyone in check, absolutely nothing can go wrong today" I instruct them both.
They're my head warriors, my right hand men, I trust them to execute the task to perfection.
"Oh definitely, today's her day...man they grow up so fast, felt like only yesterday when she finished grade school" archer sighs with the air of an experienced father unwilling to see his daughter grow up so quickly.
"You're a year older than her, stop talking nonesense" I deadpan giving him an unamused look.
"Hehe oh yeah" he chuckles sheepishly, earning an eye roll from me and a sigh from Bernard.
"It's about time for morning training, have them ready in ten" I say to archer who's demeanor immediately became serious, nodding to the command, he walked out his stance rigid with an air of authority.
"Send word to the eastern border, security is to be doubled, every wolf male or female, maiden or old must be checked thoroughly before allowed in and anyone with suspicious behaviour should be immediately apprehended and reported" I gave my orders to Bernard too.
"Sir!" He nodded respectfully before he proceeded out the office too.
I sigh, standing up from the mahogany desk to stand in front of the full glass window overlooking the vast land of greens and woody trees. A sight that made my wolf eager to sink his paws into the grass and run with the wind carrassing it's fur. But alas, I had much work to do. No time for a run, no matter how much it yearns for it.
It's been restless for the past few days, today more so than usual, and as a result I was restless too. And not to mention damn wolf's all hot and bothered all the time when he's definitely not in rut. And subsequently it's made things unbearable. But fortunately one of my many gifts is forbearance. This is nothing compared to things I've had to endure.
I admire the view for a few more seconds before I walk back to my desk to continue with the paperwork I've been at for a long time now. It's unthinkable why the head of warriors will have to do this many paperwork, I fight wars and defend the borders not read and draft contracts. Definitely wasn't part of the job description.
But after a few minutes of reading and scribbling, I got up unable to continue, and decided to overlook the morning training for today. Something usually left to archer to do. Oh How he loves to toy and enjoy beating the disobedient ones who try to challenge him in view of his age into submission. But I needed to let off some steam; I was too restless to work properly, and I wouldn't want to handle important documents that affects the pack in such a state.
I walk to the small adjourning bedroom hidden behind an inconspicuous door in the office, shrug off my button down and slacks to change into a grey sleeveless shirt and combat pants. After putting on a jacket I headed out.
My mind kept swimming with thoughts and imageries that had me pinching my forehead and cursing at my poor wolf, like it was it alone making me this way. Horny ass wolf. Really need to let off some steam.
"Huuhh you can't get up already, damn we just started, I knew you were s**t but seriously even my 9 year old brother could beat you till your tail's tucked between your legs" archer's cackling reached me first before I even entered the large outdoor training facility.
He was crouched infront of a shifted fallen wolf which was all scruffled up and had it's belly facing archer and neck shifted away, an act of absolute submission. One of great embarrassment to a wolf. Especially a warrior wolf at that. But archer has his way of breaking down even the most arrogant and egoist wolf with his cunning fighting style and brute strength. It was no fluke he made it to the level he was today.
"Who's up next! Which one of you sucker's wanna go next, you can come all at once I don't mind" he smirked smugly at the group of about a hundred warriors, talking s**t to their face. Archer might be good but in front of capable men of this number.. they'd tear him apart. But his confidence and body language had them doubting their common sense. None speaking or daring to reach forward.
"Am up for it, let's go a round" I grin, watching the way archer froze up finally noticing my presence. All confidence and bravado gone.
"Aw hell no man, I mean sir, I want to live I haven't tired of the world yet, haven't even met my mate yet, spare me this one time" he begs unashamedly to my utter bemusement.
"Come on it's a learning opportunity for the warriors" I chuckled shrugging off my jacket to expose my arms to the morning sun.
"But.." he starts again
"It's an order archer" I cut off, my voice deep and unconsciously giving out an alpha command. Something that wouldn't have ever happened on a normal sane day.
"Yes Alpha" he replies immediately as if on auto pilot, his eyes going blank for a second before refocusing and giving me a confused look.
"What's going on?" He scratches his head looking around.
Sighing internally at that, I was atleast grateful that the effects of the Alpha command make it so you don't remember your consciousness during the time in command.
"We're sparring" I say before breaking out in an abrupt lunge at him, my hands inches to his throat before he very quickly and successfully evaded my reach, but landed quite roughly as a result.
"Warn a brother man" he whines, smoothly flipping off the floor.
"Wouldn't be my right hand if you couldn't evade atleast that" I smirk, watching with satisfaction as spurts of fur start to appear on his face, his wolf sensing my danger and not willing to let him face me alone.
In a split second he's changed into a large brown ferocious wolf, snarling as he looked at me ready to brawl.
"Come at me boy" a laugh escaped me as I finally give in to my wolf's urges to shift.
It took a maximum of three second to change from a 6ft 6 man to a gigantic wolf much bigger and much much more dangerous than archer's.
An ominous growl rumbled from my throat, as I snarled at archer's attempt to back out. Remembering who exactly he was going on against.
Not today archer, I need this.
With that last thought, I pounced.
