Chapter Ten: A Destined Destiny A young man, carrying a sword, was sitting on top of a rock while quietly watching a certain spot below him. His sword was sheathed behind him and he was currently taking out a piece of bread to munch on. To the right of him was a huge cave. A name floated on top of the young man; Extremity. He was currently waiting for 'her' to come back on. An hour later, he heard a rustle among the bushes below. Such a loud noise among the crying of birds and bugs was extremely clear. The footsteps of a marching group were very easy to notice, especially when there were many clumsy steps. From yonder, he had already noticed the group of bones marching through the land. The group of bones was the forgotten Boris and his army of bones. It was just an hour ago that he had received notification from Boris. Boris was leveling up too quickly and Boris' army was expanding at every level he got. Boris is now level nineteen, Boris must have fought off every mob that was encountered along the way. He was glad that even though 'she' was not with him and in replacement of 'her', Boris was still as dependable as a family member. It only took Boris slightly more time to get to him. Even though he felt bad about leaving Boris alone in the town, he was in a rush and time did not wait for him. The crowd of bones is a rag-tagged group, some bones seem to be cracked, some bony limbs are crushed by brute force, and some are barely crawling with just one leg bone and their weapon. One was so badly battered that it clung to another bone skeleton, barely surviving. Overall, the group of bones was filled with injuries. However, even with such groups of bones, they are enough to handle a few random mobs that are just ten or so levels higher. It is especially easier for the mobs of bone skeletons at the same levels. With the group around, he could not help but loosen his tense state. Boris, in the lead, climbs the rock with the help of the other few bones. Boris was just a bone creature, so Boris could not feel nor have any emotion and Boris could not guess his current emotion. When Boris was near, Boris calmly tried to imitate his sitting position. Though a bit awkward with the sitting position, Boris clumsily did. With Boris by his side, he tried to give a calmer smile before saying, "Thanks, Boris." Even though Boris did not know the significance of the word, Boris sat still in place while the soul fire burned quietly from the soul core. This is how memories are imprinted into the soul core through the burning of the soul fire. After that, there was nothing after. Both of them sat quietly in their position as time passed by. No mobs bother to come through the cave. Then night falls, leaves resiliently rustle against the blowing wind and the nightlife of the critters begins. Patches of glowing moss lighten up the cave, though still a bit dim. Magically, even during the night, plants begin to lighten up the forest through the release of green magic particles. The elemental spirits, in the form of a ball glob with two tiny feet to support the body, begin appearing one by one while jumping up and down, happily. They are sometimes green, sometimes blue, sometimes red, sometimes purple, sometimes white, and together as a rainbow. The colorful night of the forest flourishes, but he could not help feeling lonelier than before. The wait had gone too long and he had thought that it would not take as long as this, but reality had told him that 'she' would not be back soon. He was close to finishing up his bread loaves, but he could not afford to move away from the spot since he would miss this chance if he let it slip away. It may just be his desperation, but he can not help thinking of the future. He may have been influenced too much by his 'dream,' but he knew that his 'dream' was true. He had seen the future and now he could not miss out on a chance of seeing 'her' again or was it destined that he could not meet her until the foretold time. The bustling night only gave him a sense of loneliness in the colorful night. Only Boris' bony shadow accompanied him during the night. By the time dawn approaches, he had already run out of bread loaves and he is now depending on Boris to hunt for meat while he is in charge of cooking the meat. Starting a fire is not a hard thing to do with his current speed and strength. He easily starts a fire in a couple of minutes with the dry wood close by. Munching on the cooked meat, he sat back on top of the rock while he waited. By then, the first ray of the sun had already touched the forest, lighting up the forest. The elemental spirits faded away, the glow of the moss lightened down, and the cries of the night critters stopped. A refreshing cold breeze flowed through the forest floor and he felt even lonelier. He had waited a full night and 'she' had not come back. Was he just going to stay there and wait until the system manually forces him out? The answer to that was yes, he had just lost his parents the day before and he was still desperate for the 'dream' to be true so he could finally meet his significant other as well. He was hoping to meet her, let her know how he felt about her, and gradually form their bonds again. However, without meeting her or letting her know about him. It was destined that they both would live a different life compared to his dream of the future. Sadly, his wait had gone too long and destiny had decided to force him out of the game. [Ding! The user has been logged on for far too long. The system will forcefully log the user out.] [10...] [9...] [8...] [...] Their meeting times were too brief and he could only be unhappy to comply with the system. He could only give himself a mocking smile and let the system count down to zero. Thus, end chapter ten.
