Chapter Two
Jacob led the way to his study and Ryan didn’t need to see his partner’s face to know the other man was amused. His suspicions were confirmed when Jacob turned to hand him a whiskey, not even trying to hide his grin.
“I fail to see how this situation is amusing. She’s keeping huge secrets from us. Probably dangerous secrets.”
Jacob waved his hand, unconcerned. “We’ll get to all that. In the meantime, it’s nice to see a woman who doesn’t fall all over herself to please you. You get too much of that, from humans and Fae alike.”
“That’s not true. Plenty of women aren’t interested in me.”
His partner just raised an eyebrow over his drink. Jacob sat on the couch, Took settling in at his feet while Ryan paced back and forth before the empty fireplace.
