Chapter 5 - Collecting my prize

A few hours earlier. * Alessandro POV. “I’ll give you one last chance.” I said, screwing a silencer onto my gun. “Where are the weapons?” The man in front of me coughed out some blood. ”I don’t know.” He wheezed. I rolled my eyes. Of course I didn’t believe him. The sorry excuse of a man in front of me was one of Viper’s closest men. I was sure that he would have the information I wanted. I pulled out the knife stuck in his hand and he howled in pain. “Last chance.” I said. “Go f*ck yourself, Costa.” The man spat. “I hope you never find your precious weapons.” I smirked and fired my gun. A bullet shot out of the barrel and pierced the man’s forehead. His head flew back from the force and blood splattered on the plastic covered wall behind him. “Still nothing.” I sighed and wiped my hands on a towel. “Bring me another one.” I ordered before walking back to my office. Harley, my Beta, tossed a file on my desk. “They’re all gone.” He exasperated. “Five million Euros worth of guns and they’re all gone.” I skimmed through the file. “It’s obviously Viper’s doing.” I muttered. “No one else would have the resources, or the balls, to steal a large shipment of guns, right under the nose of the border police.” I sighed and got up. “I’ll make sure to meet up with Dante next week and see if we can work something out.” I said and shrugged on my jacket. “If Viper has got his hands on that much firepower, we should probably get ready for a turf war soon.” It was 8 PM and the sun was going down. I had been working tirelessly all day after a huge shipment of guns had gone missing when they were being smuggled into Sweden from Denmark. Harley left the office and I sat back, sighing in frustration. I looked at a framed photo sitting on my desk. It was my most prized possession. The only thing I had left of my family before they were all taken away from me. My eyes fell on the face of a little girl in the photo. She smiled like an angel descending to the world. But just in 1 second, the horrible scene play itself on repeat in my brain, “Aiuto! Aiuto! (Help! Help!)” Miabella cried as she struggled against the large man. I watched it happen, but there was nothing I could do at that time. I swear, I will definitely make the devil pay, blood for blood. “Are you coming or what?” Harley’s voice pulled me from my thoughts and we walked out of the office together. It had been six years since we came to Sweden. We sought refuge with Alpha Dante. He was running his own daughter pack in Sweden. Their mother pack was located in Rome and my family had been working with them a lot. Dante had taken me under his wing and taught me how the underground market worked here. Soon, I had gained influence enough to start my own pack. Me and Dante's packs worked closely together and we were the biggest leaders of the underground market for drugs and weapons. My goal was to become so influential that I could go back to Italy to take revenge. Harley opened the door and I got into the back seat of the black Tesla. I was still deep in thought when we pulled out on the road and headed back to my mansion. Suddenly, this feeling came over me when I spotted a building out the window. "STOP THE CAR!" I couldn’t explain it. I was drawn to the building like a moth to a flame. Harley pulled over and we got out of the car. “Do you know this place?” I asked. Harley shrugged. “I think it’s trafficking territory.” He replied. “Considering the people walking in, I suppose it’s an auction there tonight.” I narrowed my eyes and walked to the entrance with Harley on my tail. “I’m here for the auction.” I stated to the bouncer. “And who are you?” He asked. I narrowed my eyes. “Alpha Alessandro Costa.” I replied with the coldest tone I could muster. The bouncer widened his eyes. “I-I’m s-sorry, Alpha Costa.” He stammered. “Right this way please. He opened the door for us and we walked in. “What are we doing here?” Harley whispered in my ear as we walked down a dark corridor. Honestly, I had no idea. I had no problem shipping material things in and out of the country, but selling people was too barbaric, even for me. I shrugged, but didn’t reply as we entered a large hall with a stage on one side. We took our seats and waited for the auction to begin. The girls were taken out on the stage one by one, but somehow it felt like I was looking for someone. I felt my heart skip a beat when they pulled out a girl with fair skin on the stage. She had dark, curly hair streaked with some blonde highlights. She was dressed in the same black dress as all the other girls that were brought out on the stage and she had a blindfold over her eyes. When they had shackled her to the stage, they removed the blindfold. Her blue eyes darted around the room and I felt the wind get sucked out of me even though she never actually looked at me. A spotlight was directed onto her and she tried to cover her eyes. She was beautiful. Angelic. I wanted her so bad, I knew I had to do anything in my power to get her out of here. I was annoyed when another bidder stubbornly wouldn’t stand down. “One million.” I roared. Hushed whispers erupted around the room, but I completely ignored them. I leaned over to Harley and whispered. “Find out who that bidder is. I want him to know what happens when you try to cross me.” Harley nodded and we got up to collect the mystery of a girl that I just bought. We walked in and saw her struggling against a man holding her arm so tight that she let out a pained cry. Anger coursed through me, but I kept my cold composure. “You’re paying for that if it leaves a bruise.” I snarled. The man holding her arm paled and he loosened his grip. “S-Sorry Sir.” He said. “She was just a little disobedient”.” My mystery girl stared at me with eyes filled with fear. Up close, she was even more beautiful. I motioned for her to come closer to me and after looking uncertain, she walked up to me and lowered her gaze. When she looked up at me with pleading eyes, I was certain that she was going to ask me to let her go. Instead, she caught me by surprise. “Please, could you bid for the female vampire too? They’ve been tormenting her.” I chuckled at her odd request. “You surprise me, little swan.” I said. “And here I thought that you would ask me to let you go.” She frowned at me. “Please.” She whispered. I looked over to the ballistic vampire struggling with all her might while growling and hissing at the men holding her down. “Hey you.” I said, pointing to a man in a striped suit that looked to be in charge. “How much for the vampire?” He snorted. “You can have her for free!” He grinned and clapped his hands. “A gift for you, Alpha!” I nodded curtly. “You have my thanks.” I said. The men let go of the vampire and she quickly got to her feet and fixed her dress. “Thanks.” She muttered. “But if you think I’m going to serve you or something, you really are mistaken.” “Well, I could always give you back.” I shrugged and gestured to the men behind her. “And they can get back to what they were doing before.” My mystery girl took her hand. “Hey.” She whispered. “We’ll figure something out. It can’t get any better than this.” Vampire girl pursed her lips. “Fine, whatever.” She muttered and rolled her eyes. “Names?” I said curtly. “I’m Olivia.” The vampire said. “And this is Cecilia.” Now I had a name. Cecilia. I reached over and grabbed Cecilia’s arm. “Let’s go.” I said. She didn’t resist, and let me lead her outside to the car. I heard Harley escorting Olivia behind us. When we reached the car, I opened the trunk and pulled out two pairs of handcuffs. “Hands behind your backs.” I said.
