I bit my lip hard to try to break this spell I was under. I should be more amazed that Ivy just gave me control, but I couldn’t be. My very core was rocked. I had never expected to meet my mate. The whole wedding fiasco was outwardly a sing of our clans forming a truce, while of course inwardly I was being sent to destroy them. But destroy my mate? Why couldn’t Ivy feel this? This overwhelming sensation of peace and just right. I found myself twirling a long strand of my black hair as I sidled closer to him and Orchid. My friend looked happy, happier than I had seen her in a long time.
