I looked up as heavy footsteps appeared. Axel hadn’t bothered to shift, which was strange but I pushed it out of mind. “Who is this?” He demanded as he stared at my mate.
Angel looked at him over the top of my head. “Name’s Angel, I’m assuming you’re fodder this time around.”
Axel’s frown grew. “I was told to protect her, I don’t know who you are, or where you came from, but you’re an intruder in our territory. The only reason I haven’t attacked yet is because of her. Last chance to come clean before I have to separate the two of you so I can do my job.”
Angel didn’t even flinch while still holding me. He just c****d his head to the side and chuckled. His whole chest vibrated as he did so and I admit I got a thrill from it. “I’m here to protect Hazel, and to teach her.”
