Fabulous ft. The Dream- Throw It In The Bag
Ashley:
"No, way. You're a pom-pom b***h?" Lily blurts out when I come out of the bathroom the next morning in my cheerleading uniform.
"Yeah," I laugh. "I got a pep rally in a bit. You want to come?"
"Ugh, I would but it's hella hot out," she shakes her head. It's not but her fair skin might take a hit.
"Aww, come on. Take one of your cool umbrellas so you don't burst into flames Vampirella,"
"f**k off," she flips me off.
"Please, it'll be fun,"
"Fine. Let me get dressed," she agrees.
"Sure,"
When Lily comes out of the bathroom, her hair is wet and the makeup is gone. She looks like a normal girl and she's super cute. It takes her very little time to get ready and turn back into a goth girl sexy. We could not be any more different if we tried. The two of us walk down to get breakfast together.
"All right. I'll see you at the-"
"Nope," I loop my arm through hers. "You're having breakfast with us. I'm not ready to let you go yet,"
"Ashley," she groans as I lead her to the food. She reluctantly gets her food and follows me to the tables where the others wait for us.
"Good morning," I greet everyone.
They all look between the two of us and give us a nod but say nothing as the two of us take a seat. Dante pulls me close to him. This is the first time we don't sleep together since Wednesday and I kind of needed the space. He warned me that he was going to get a little clingy after but I didn't think it would be this bad.
"Did you sleep?" he asks.
"Surprisingly, yeah," I nod. Lily lets out a little laugh.
"Lucifer loves you," she says confusing the others. "By the end of the week. You two are going to be best friends,"
"Uh, what?" Kelly asks. She seems calm right now.
"Lucifer is her Doberman," I announce.
"I love puppies," Tam beams.
"Oh, yeah?" Lily smiles. She turns around and whistles. The dog rushes into the cafeteria scaring the hell out of some of the unsuspecting students. He prances over to her and takes a seat on the floor next to her. Tam's eyes go wide.
"That's not a baby," she chokes out.
"Can we give him snacks?" Anthony leans over the table to get a better look at him.
"No, chicken bones, no chocolate, and no candy. He gets hyper," she nods.
"Sweet. I can pet him right?"
"You can try," she shrugs.
Anthony sneers at her and stands up. The dog jumps up and watches him carefully as he comes around and takes a knee in front of him. He puts his hand up so the dog sniffs him. It takes a moment but the dog presses his snout into the palm of his hand and then lets Anthony pet him.
"I love animals. I have a pet crow," he tells her.
"Oh, yeah? What's its name?"
"Birdie," he smiles. She laughs.
"That's a terrible name," she shakes her head. "Lucifer, outside,"
"And Lucifer isn't?" I grin.
The dog pulls away from her and heads back the way he came. Anthony, being the delight he usually is bombards Lily with an insane amount of inappropriate questions and she answers them all for him. Including one where he asked her if she had to choose between f*****g a lycan or a vampire to save her life. Her answer was, vampires are cool and all but Lycans are f*****g wild. If he's not wild, why is he even living for all eternity? I think he's in love with her already. Kelly on the other hand is pissed but is keeping it to herself.
"What the f**k are you doing here?" Teegan appears with a coffee mug in his hand and a phone in the other.
"This is my roommate," I introduce her. He looks between and groans.
"f**k my life," he sighs and storms off. Kelly and Tam both laugh.
"Yeah, you were right, Villanueva. This is fun," Lily grins. "Do you think he's still mad?"
"It looks like it," I laugh.
"What was that?" Rudy asks.
"Ghosted him before the Summer started. Don't text the emotionally unavailable girl six times in a row and then show up at her house unannounced. That's the kind of s**t that gets your ass shot," she continues to eat her breakfast.
"What the f**k?" Carter takes his seat between Rudy and Kelly. "What's up, De Laughrey?"
"What's up, Kennedy?" she spares him a glance.
"I'm not gonna lie, this s**t is weird," he looks at me and then at Anthony contemplating who she's here with. "Wait, is she your accompanist?"
"And roommate," I nod.
"f**k," he groans. "Alright, De Laughrey. We got to set some ground rules,"
"Aww, come on, Kennedy. I put up with your s**t in front of my old man so he gets off my ass. Don't do this here too," she shakes her head.
"Just hear me out," he sighs. I bump her with my elbow. She looks at me and groans.
"Fine,"
"You can't kill people here and if you do, come find me immediately. Don't touch the f*****g body," he points at her with his fork. The others look over at him with the same horrified expression I am. "You can't be running around pulling your gun out on anyone. As matter a of fact, hand it over,"
"No," she complains.
"Lily," he growls. She lets out a long groan and tosses her purse at him. He opens it up and pulls out a huge pistol and some ninja stars. "You can keep the knife. Don't stab anyone. Do not antagonize anyone at this table. They will slap you up. It'll make the beatings from your daddy look like a fun time at Lego Land. Stay away from Daniels. You two together," he points between them and shakes his head. "If she needs any party favors, I'll pay you for them, Villanueva. You need to be on your best f*****g behavior here, Lily. I will not hesitate to put you in a f*****g box if you f**k anything up,"
"Whatever," she sits back with her arms crossed over her chest. "Sucks the fun out of everything,"
"Villanueva, do not pick up any of her shitty habits, please. She's a f*****g gremlin. There's still hope for you," Carter looks over at me as he puts his arm around the back of Kelly's chair.
"That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me," I smile. "Progress,"
"Shut the f**k up. We're not friends," he huffs.
"And he's back. I should have just taken the compliment," I shake my head.
"Villanueva," Tiffany comes over. Her eyes immediately land on Lily. "What the f**k?"
"Is that usually how people react to you?" I ask Lily. She nods.
"Oh, yeah. These are mild reactions," she waves them off. "If it were my first day at H.P. someone would be bleeding already. This place is sunshine and rainbows compared to Hellbourne Prep,"
"Has a good king," Kelly rolls her eyes.
"We gotta go, Villanueva," Tiffany forces herself to look away from Lily. I turn around to look at Dante and Tam.
"Don't leave her alone and for the love of scary, don't be mean to her. I need her," I whisper.
"Okay," he smiles tightly. Tam nods.
"Best behavior," she agrees. "Good luck out there,"
"Yeah, shake what the good people of the Southside gave you," Kelly adds. The others laugh. I wink at her before giving Dante a kiss and following after Tiffany.
This is the first time we perform for a crowd and I have to admit I'm just as nervous as I am when I get on stage. Tiffany seems to be just as nervous as we meet up with the rest of the squad.
The new cheer coordinator. Alondra Aarons is giving her usual pep talk but now that I know she's a demon, I can't help but see her as anything other than that. She seems so normal. So beautifully human. The way she laughs, how she moves, and how she's overly supportive of all the girls and guys on the squad. It makes me wonder why I'm so scared of her and James.
Carter just moves with this like it's positively perfect. He's so obsessed with it all. Especially when it regards Kelly. He's nuts but there is no doubt in my mind that he loves her and doesn't want anything bad to happen to her. It's the same with Tam and Rudy. He's really unavailable at times but she's so patient with him and he adores her for it. Their humans are nearly equivalent to them. They're so f*****g compatible that it's something straight out of a dark romance.
"All right, my little Timberwolves. Let's get out there and shake the stadium up. Villanueva, Kennedy, Saint Claire, you're going to be our pyramid top today. You ready?" Ms. Aarons asks.
"Let's do it," Daisy Saint Claire jumps out of her seat excitedly.
"Please, don't f*****g drop me this time, Daisy. I'll kick you in the f*****g mouth," I warn her.
"That's the spirit, Ashley. Let's get out there, ladies," Ms. Aarons laughs and claps her hands together. "Let's Go Timberwolves!" everyone claps for her and starts to chant with her as Tiffany and I look at one another in horror.
"Why are we here again?" she asks.
"Don't look at me, Tiff. You dragged me into this," I shrug.
We both laugh and follow the others out of the dig-out. She throws her arm over my shoulder and I let her. Cheer camp was kind of difficult for the two of us. We're not like these other girls. I actually found that Tiffany and I have a lot in common and since we're going to be seeing a lot of each other, I decided that we need to put our differences aside. Anthony had called it. These girls were on all kinds of anti-depressants and getting them to focus was not an easy task. Just getting two routines into them was a b***h.
I didn't know I missed all of this, but as I look around on our way to the middle of the football field I can't help but feel a little excited. The stands are packed. There's a microphone in the middle of the field. The band is playing. The baton girls are preparing their flags. We all look super cute in our uniforms. Okay, maybe this isn't too bad. You know, once you overlook all the shitty parts. It gets fun.
