Chapter 11 Llona When I came to, I didn’t immediately open my eyes. Partly because it felt like I had an ice pick through the back of my head, but mostly because I wanted to focus on the voices around me. The wind storm had stopped, and by the feel of the weeds beneath me, I was no longer on the barn floor. I could hear May’s labored breathing not far away. “Not in a million years did I ever think I’d see you again,” Jonathan’s deep voice said. “But now that you’re here, what do I do with you?” I risked opening my eyes briefly hoping no one was watching.
