Veronica's p.o.v

I turned and came face to face with the most handsome fierce-looking man I had ever seen.

I looked behind him and saw that the guards and the lady were bowing low on their knees facing the ground.

"Leave us, and don't you all dare come in her chambers even if she screams." he said coldly as they all stood up and quickly rushed out, the man angrily pushed me away as I fell on the floor bruising my elbow, I glared at him angrily.

"What the hell did you do that for!" I yelled angrily.

He moved closer and squatted in front of me, he held my Jaw tightly, it was painful, who the hell was this man? I tried pulling away but failed, I faced him with forming tears.

"A snake like you can never move me with your crocodile tears, isn't it what you wanted? You blinded my mother and brother to force me to wed you, I let go of the only woman I had ever loved for your stupid sake but don't be too relaxed, I have already made lady Irene the love of my life as the first concubine, in no time she will be empress and you will be reduced to nothing" he spat as he let me go.

I touched my chin then angrily stood up.

"You are a sick bastard, a man who acts violently on women is sure worthless, I also don't know or love you, you are wasting your precious time with me, go on and make Irene or whatever you call her empress, who would love to be empress and stay by such a jerk like you." I yelled angrily as I felt a hard slap on my cheek.

I touched my cheek then smiled, so this was really real? I was really here in whoever this girl's body was.

"Is that the best you can do?" I asked angrily.

He looked at with disgust then sighed lowly.

"If this is the way you plan on seducing me it won't work, I consummated the marriage for just an act, I will never touch such a filthy body again and so you know, I will never have anything to do with you, I will continue to act my part as your loving husband, my empress if you dare anger me, I will kill you, not even your darling father will help you." he said with a dark smirk.

He turned and walked out, the lady who gave me the mirror recently quickly walked in, I looked at her with forming tears.

"Mia... I mean your highness did his majesty hit you again?" She asked moving closer.

So that jerk usually hit the owner of the body, what the hell.

"Yes, he did." I cried as she quickly held my hand.

"I'm sorry sister." she whispered as I stopped crying.

"You are my sister?" I asked in surprise.

"Yes, didn't we promise each other to forever be together even before you became empress, we are best friends same as sisters remember?" She asked sadly.

"No I don't, I can't remember anything anymore, it's as if I'm another person." I said as she sighed.

"That explains it now, I was so shocked as to why you acted kind towards me." She said as I looked at her confused.

"Why aren't you surprised or confused, you are taking it rather nicely." I said when she smiled.

"Well because it's not the first time that such a thing has happened to you." she said. I sat down on the bed with a confused look.

"Explain." I commanded.

"Well what can I say, it all began when the princess was 14 years old, she was very sick and died, the king and queen were so devastated that they couldn't accept the death of their only child, they summoned a sorcerer who dealt in dark forces. He told them he would try to bring back the princess to life but there was a one percent chance that it would be her, since her soul had already left the body. She was like a vessel for dead spirits that still wanted to live and refused to go, the queen begged the man to bring her back even if she wasn't the one and so the man did. But the one that came back wasn't the princess, it was an evil spirit in her, the king and queen knew that the one in the body wasn't their child but they pretended not to see. They continued to treat her like a princess even though she did horrible things such as sleep around, hurt people and many more.

When our country was in trouble we asked the neighboring kingdom to help and they agreed, when my king and queen went to meet the emperor, the evil spirit that was in the body of the princess was so captivated by his majesty the emperor, she convinced the empress dowager and his Majesty's brother and her parents to let her marry him, in no time they agreed, the emperor feared to refuse his mother due to her weak health, he agreed to marry her when he already had another woman he truly loved.

While the emperor was engaged to the princess, he spotted her a few times with different men in her chambers but he did nothing, he later found out how the princess threatened the love of his life. He became furious and began hitting the princess, after their marriage, the emperor forced himself to consummate the marriage, in the eyes of people he pretended to love the princess, when he was left alone with the princess, he used to hit her badly. I don't know why that spirit left the princess body, maybe it did that to let you in. Only I know of this secret in this palace, so if you want to continue acting like the empress I can help you, if you don't want you can just leave this body, I'm sure another spirit will poses it soon." she said as I sighed.

In my time I was killed with my parents, there was just no way I could go back.

Not after I saw what was  in store for me.
