Lea’s POV
“It’s time to go back to the castle.” The king said still looking at the warriors.
“Yes we should.” I’m so dreadful of going back to the castle. I loved this area so much.
“Arthur!” I jumped when the king yelled.
“Yes your majesty.” A blonde man stood in front of us. I studied him. He was well built, tall but not as tall as the king. He looked like he was in his late twenties. He was panting and sweating from the training.
“Fight me.” I looked at the king with a raised eyebrow. He just looked at me for a full minute and before heading towards Arthur, he took off his royal cape and gave it to me.
“This man and his obsession with sword fighting.” I jumped startled and looked to the owner of the sound, to see duke Jake.
“You scared me! When did you come?” I asked surprised, trying to ease the beating of my heart.
“I’m sorry your majesty.” He smiled gently, and apologetically at me. I smiled back.
“It’s okay.” I replied.
“I thought you were going to head to the castle earlier.” He squinted his eyes.
“Yeah, he said it was time to go back, but he suddenly called Arthur.” The warriors were forming a circle around the king and his opponent, Arthur. We were standing on a high hill so we could still see everything.
“Is someone going to get hurt?” I asked scared.
“Don’t worry, these swords don’t kill. Those injured got their injuries by falling on the rocks on the floor.” I sighed in relief. I was not going to witness someone die today.
I looked back at the king and saw him glaring at Jake and I. I looked at Jake to see him smirking at the king.
“Someone’s jealous.” Jake said and I scoffed. Yes as if.
“You seem so close to the king.” I stated.
“Yeah we are best friends, more like brothers.” He said waiting with pride in his eyes.
“So obviously you know his name.” I said waiting for his reply.
“That’s right. I’m not telling you. It’s something he should tell you we he’s ready.”
“Fine.” I rolled my eyes.
“Get in your positions!” A man yelled.
“Jake who’s that?” I asked studying the man.
“That’s Craig, the head warrior.” He replied.
I looked back at the king and Arthur, and saw them holding their swords tightly in their hands. They charged at each other and tried to touch the opponent’s body with the sword. The king’s muscles flexed and it was a mouthwatering sight. With one determined move, the king unarmed Arthur and the sword fell to the floor next to them.
“You should focus more.” The king said and gave Arthur his sword back.
“Listen. The back and the abdomen, the strong wrists are the key for sword fighting. You should stay calm but aware of your opponent’s moves. You should stay confident and use intimidations against your opponent. Plus, striking at the right time and being close enough to actually hit is a kill in itself. And finally, you should have enough common sense to NOT underestimate your opponent.” He finished explaining and we were all intrigued by his knowledge. He is perfect to be king.
He took his stance again and waited for Arthur to get ready. Arthur aimed to deliver a full force overhead attack on the king using his advice about speed.
The king immediately dodged the attack with a certain part of the sword.
“That’s the forte, the strongest part of the sword.” Jake said and I nodded understanding.
The king did the same act as Arthur in the beginning, he was looking at Arthur’s head. He side stepped out of the way of the counter track of Arthur with one hand, and suddenly dropped the attack into Arthur’s foremost leg.
Arthur clutched his leg in pain, but smiled at the king.
“This time you did better. Good job.” The king said in his usual cold voice. A warm feeling spread in my chest and my heart started beating faster than ever when he looked at me with his cold eyes.
“Thank you sir.” Arthur said and sat on the floor catching his breath.
“Lea. Come.” He took the cape from my hands. His hand brushed mine and tingles danced where he touched. I followed him looking at Jake waving at him.
“Jake I will deal with you later.” The king said with a glare. What’s going on?
“But-“ He tried to argue and I wondered what did Jake do.
“Lea follow me.” I gave Jake a sad smile and followed my husband.
“That was rude, Jake didn’t do anything.” I said glaring at his back.
“Mind your own f*****g business.” He said turning his head sharply and gave me his signature glare.
Once we saw our horses we got on them and head back to the castle.

“Your highness how was your day?” Anna asked helping me getting ready to bed.
“Good.” I replied. I was very tired. If I wasn’t I would have told her everything.
“Goodnight your highness. Don’t forget, breakfast is at 9.” She bowed and left. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
Dream
“Oh great a new boy will be added to our group.” Nolan said sighing. I giggled.
“It’s okay Nolan. You will always be my favorite.” I kissed his cheek.
“I better be.” He rolled his eyes but had a smile on his face.
“Now tell me. Who’s the boy?” I asked him looking at Megan sitting with the new boy.
“He’s a peasant. Like us he wasn’t poor but not rich either. He came with his parents the other day.” He said.
“Oh really?”
“Yeah.” The new boy approached us.
“Hi. My name is A-“
I woke up startled. I was breathing hard. It was still night time but I couldn’t sleep again. I got up from my bed and left my chamber, well the king’s chamber, but he wasn’t sleeping here.
The guards were wide awake and I felt pity for them.
“Your majesty do you need anything?” One of the guards asked me.
“No thank you. I’m going to the kitchen.” I said with a smile. I didn’t want to be interrogated.
“I can wake up one of the royal chefs.” He said.
“No, no. It’s okay really.” He nodded and went back to his earlier position.
I sighed in relief and left the royal quarters and headed downstairs. There was a door half opened and it looked like the owner of the room is still awake. My curiosity got the best of me and as I neared the door I heard moans. I peeked inside and looked around the room until my eyes met the most heartbreaking scene. The king was sleeping with a blonde bimbo. I gasped and he immediately looked at me. Worry clouded his eyes but he then closed them and when he looked at me again, he smirked and kissed to woman’s lips.
I turned around and ran back to my chamber and locked the door. I slide on the floor and felt tears running down my face.
Why am I crying right now? It’s not like I like him or something. He forced me into this marriage. But why? He could have married that b***h. He could have saved us both from this fate.
I wiped my tears. No. I refuse to cry. Why would I cry. He’s not important to me, neither was I to him.
I went to the bathroom and washed my face. I will learn to be the best queen, because sulking in misery will only widen that smirk.

“My queen! Your majesty open the door!” A feminine voice was yelling from outside the room. I was too lazy to get up and open the door.
“What’s going on here?” Once I heard his voice, the night’s events came rushing back to me and I felt the tears once again and closed my eyes tighter. I don’t want to hear his voice and I surely don’t want to see his face.
“Your majesty! Are you okay?” Anna was frantically knocking on the door. But I was too selfish and sad to reply to her.
“Lea open this f*****g door!” The king yelled banging on the door. ‘leave me alone’ I wanted to scream but really I wasn’t in the mood.
“I’m so worried about her, the guards told me she was awake at night and came here running and shivering.” Anna just had to tell him!
There was a long pause until I heard footsteps getting away from the door. Okay enough.
I got up and opened the door and Anna jumped and hugged me as much as her old body could allow her. I sniffled and she froze. She pulled away and inspected my face trying to find the reason of my tears.
“What happened?” She asked looking concerned.
“I saw him sleeping with a blonde whore.” I said. She looked guilty and didn’t meet my gaze.
“That’s lady Isabelle.” She said, and I craned my head in confusion. Who’s she?
