Chapter 9

"How long until the guards come?" Victoria asked. "Not long" Simon told her, his sword still in hand. "They were approaching her room as I left" he told her. "Quickly now" Victoria told him. Simon raised his sword to his mother's neck as the doors to the room suddenly burst open. "WHERE IS SHE!" yelled the king as knights began to flood the room. "That's what I would like to know as well" Simon said with a glare as he stared at his mother. "I know not of what you speak, your gracious majesty," Victoria said. "What of you boy?" The king asked. "I left the room for what was only a moment and when I returned Marilyn as well as the Duke were gone. If anyone is to know where they have gone, who else would it be other than my dearest mother" Simon said. "I know not where they have gone" Victoria said plainly. "Then what do you know?" The king asked as he moved Simon away from her so he could stand in front of her. "I know what you wish to do with my daughter just as I knew what you wished to do with Antonio" she told him. "Unlike Antonio and myself she will not hide from you" Victoria told him. "Then I doubt she will live long," the king said, turning around. "Arrest lady Victoria Hamilton for the kidnapping of a member of the royal family" the king told his guards. "AND FIND THE DUKE AND THE PRINCESS" he yelled. "I gave her a chance to die peacefully now she will either obey me or die fighting me" the king said, as the guards grabbed Victoria and dragged her out of the room. "How is she?" Damien asked, "She'll pull through my lord," Melinda, the witch who Damien had brought to save Marilyn said as they stood outside of her room. It had been 2 days since Damien took Marilyn out of the castle. As her condition got worse Damien had managed to find a witch who studied the myzentopia flower, and was able to create an antidote from the poison. Marilyn opened her eyes and slowly sat up before slowly standing up. She carefully made her way to the door and opened it. "Marilyn, you're awake!" Damien said, shocked. "How could I not wake up with how loud you have been" she told him. "How are you feeling?" Melinda asked, turning to Marilyn. "As if a thousand thorns are stabbing into my head," Marilyn said, rubbing her temple. "That is to be expected for the next few days but it shall go on its own" Melinda told her. "I'm Melinda, my lady, it's a pleasure to meet you," Melinda said with a smile. "Please call me Marilyn. I personally still have doubts about my apparent lineage," Marilyn replied. "Marilyn" Damien said Marilyn looked up at him."I won't force you to help us but what is it you wish to do?" He asked her. Marilyn was quiet for a moment. "You're right," she said. "With how the king is there is no way the unnaturals will be able to integrate into the world with him alive" she said. "We have to kill him," she added. "It's not as if we haven't tried," Melinda said, "even with the witches and wolves on the same side we have been unable to come up with a proper plan to deal with him," Melinda explained. "What of the vampires?" Marilyn asked "it's not smart to work with them" Damien told her. "The only thing they wish for is blood," he added. "Then we give them blood," she told him. "I want to meet them," Marilyn told him. "I can not allow that," Damien replied. "Even with wolves and magic there is no guarantee you will win a war" she told him "and how do you intend to bridge the gap of humanity and the supernatural world without them, war or no war we need them" Marilyn told him. He was quiet for a moment, as he turned to look at Melinda. Melinda gave him a Nod before turning back to Marilyn. "Fine," he said, letting out a deep breath. "But we are coming with you," he told her. "I expected no less," she told him. "Now that, that has been settled is there anything I can change into" Marilyn asked. "I'll have someone bring you something" Damien told her. Marilyn gave him a nod before going back into the room and closing the door. "This isn't smart" Damien said, walking away as Melinda followed him. "It's her choice Damien" Melinda told him. "It's dangerous, their Dangerous" he snapped. "But she's not wrong" Melinda said. Damien stopped and turned to face her. "You can't fill a hole without enough dirt, Damien. That much is common knowledge" she told him. "Must I really abandon my morals for this?" He asked her. "Sometimes sacrifices have to be made in order to create the peace you so wish to have" said melinda. "You must contact him" she said. "If not for peace then for her" she added. Damien turned and walked away, walking directly to his office and sitting down. Pulling out a pen and paper, Damien began to write. Not much time passed before he folded the paper and put it in an envelope, and sealed it with a wax seal with his family crest stamped on it. "Biden," Damien called out. "Yes my alpha" Biden said as he entered the room. Damien stood up and walked around his desk to Biden. "Send this to the Duke of Highland," he said, handing the letter to Biden. Biden was shocked for a moment as he took the letter from Damien. "Are you quite sure?" Biden asked. "Unfortunately so" Damien replied walking back around his desk and sitting down. "Marilyn as well as Melinda think it's best to include them and though I am very much so, against it they are not wrong" Damien explained. "No make haste, I wish to get his reply quickly" Damien said. "Yes alpha" Biden said before quickly leaving. TO BE CONTINUED
