Time to go

Star's POV

I had a gut feeling that everything would work out fine with Rose and her mates. Heading back to the party, I grabbed my brothers hand and made him dance with me. Sarah saw the entire thing and was laughing. I love my brother and knew he wouldn't say no to me, even though he hates dancing. Andrew was in the corner of the ballroom laughing and spending time with Ryan, Uncle Noah, and my dad.

"Okay everyone, please gather around for cake!" Landon's voice booms and the entire room begins to walk towards the massive birthday cake. I love my Aunt Alice so much and she and Uncle Landon look so happy with their little princess. I wonder how Andrew would feel if I told him I want a baby. Just as I was thinking about him, I feel sparks ignite on my skin as he hugs me from behind and places a kiss on top of my head. The lights dim and we all sing happy birthday to Nova. She blows her candles out and claps her little hands together along with everyone else celebrating with her tonight.

As much as I wanted to stay longer, it was getting late and I knew it was time for us to leave. Grandma Daisy and Grandpa Avery engulfed me and Andrew in a big hug, and I could hear her heart beat rapidly. When we pulled away from the hug, I saw tears running down grandma's face. "Please don't cry. I'll see you guys again." Grandpa wipes away her tears and looks at us. "We know sweetheart, but that doesn't stop us from missing you guys. Your mom was a mess for along time after you left. I just hope she doesn't fall into that depression again after seeing you tonight." My heart clenched with guilt. I knew exactly what he meant. I was watching her from the moon and it was painful to see her like she was. "I'll go talk to her. I don't want her to be in pain again. Especially because of me." I hug my grandparents one last time before Andrew and I went to say our goodbyes to the others. Megg and Jace hugged us and then we went to Grandma Rose and her mates. I was relieved to see that they looked happy after the meeting we had earlier.

"Star. Thank you for earlier. You could have kept it a secret, but I am delighted to know that our family is gaining a new family member. Well, if Zola wants to meet us that is." I was shocked to hear Rose's words. I can tell she's telling the truth and I am happy for her. I just have to talk to Selene now about introducing Zola to her father. Grandpa Jackson and Grandpa Kevin hugged us and thanked me as well. "Do you really have to leave so soon?" Grandma hugged me once more as she began to cry. Her mates rubbed her back to try to comfort her. "Yes, but I will be back again. I love you guys."

"We barely got to hang out tonight!" Juliette began to pout as we were saying our goodbyes to her and Ryan. "I'm sorry. Next time I come back, we can have a girls day, okay?" That seemed to make her cheer up a bit. She held her pinky out to me, which I took with mine and promised. With that, she hugged me and then Andrew. "We'll have a guys day, I promise." Andrew holds his pinky out to Ryan, making all of us laugh. Ryan linked his pinky with Andrew's and gave him a man hug. Those two are adorable and the best of friends. I can never thank Andrew enough for leaving everything behind to be with me.

Aunt Alice was easy to spot in the room with a loud toddler hanging around her. When she and uncle Landon spotted us approaching them, their faces fell. They knew we were coming over to say goodbye. "Star!" She wraps me in a tight hug. "Thank you for coming tonight. This was the best surprise ever. We love you guys." Damn, why is saying goodbye always so sad. "I love you guys. How could we miss a chance to celebrate little miss Nova?" I pick the little princess up and twirl around with her in my arms, causing giggles to escape her mouth. Ugh. My heart. That sound is just too adorable. I place a kiss on her cheek before placing her back down. Uncle Landon hugs me after he hugged Andrew. "I wish being King was enough power to order you guys to stay longer, but I know that's impossible." I frown at him and hold back my tears. "Please, enjoy the rest of the party. No tears. Okay? This is a joyful moment to remember forever. Nova will only be little for a short amount of time." I say, trying to change the subject to a happy one. Andrew and I kneel down and say happy birthday to Nova one last time, giving her a big hug.

Uncle Noah and Uncle Alex were talking with my mom and dad. I walked over and felt nervous all of a sudden. "Hey, it's okay Star. They will understand. Your mom is strong, she will get through this." Andrew whispers in my ear as he rubs my back. "Don't." My mother said the second we were in front of the group. "Mom." I softly say, holding my arms open for a hug. She stares at me for a moment that seemed like forever. Finally she began to cry and ran into my arms. "Hey, what's going on over here?" I hear Benny ask as he, Sarah, and baby Franklin make their way closer to us.

"She's leaving us again." Uncle Noah said with a cracked voice. I could tell he was holding back his own tears. "Mom. I need you to promise me something." I pull her slightly away to look her in the face. "You have to be strong. I will be back, I promise. You have the entire Blood Moon pack and your family who needs you to be here for them. Not locked away in your room." Her eyes widened at that. "You knew?" I nod my head. "I see everything." I pull her into a hug once more before hugging my dad and the others. "Star, I am so proud of the woman you have become." This time it was my turn to cry. I love my dad and those words mean so much to me.

After the goodbyes, I lead Andrew into the hallway and flashed us back home to the moon.
