"Because I missed you."
The four words kept playing in her head as she kept her gaze on her King.
He could have said that he had official business, that he was attending a ceremony or a was on an inspection thag he rarely ever did. All of that was believable. But out of all things, she did not expect him to answer in such a heart twisting way.
"What?"
"I came here because I missed you." He said slowly, speaking each syllable with precision so she could understand. The amusement in his eyes teased Davina.
"How is that possible?" She asked more to herself than him. Was it possible to miss someone whom you didn't know? In any way, he did not know Davina other than her face, her voice, her title.
How could he miss her?
When he didn't answer her question, she chuckled and smiled.
