Chapter 5“Have you heard from Peter today?” Kevin asked Bruce as he placed a plate of small slices of various cakes on the table.
There was already a teapot on it, along with two teacups. Kevin was amused when Bruce immediately grabbed one of the cakes without answering his question. It was the day after he and Bruce had their first dinner with Peter, and he thought the meal the previous evening had gone well. However, Peter hadn’t replied to his text, which he’d sent during lunch, and it was now four in the afternoon, time for his daily snack hour with Bruce at the shop.
“I have,” Bruce replied while still chewing.
