Chapter 10The next day was a whirl of activity for both girls; Kate had to interview new staff all day and Lex was covering bike exams for a test centre that was short staffed, however they were both in each other’s thoughts whenever they got time to breathe.
Just as Kate was finishing up for the day her mobile beeped and her spirits brightened as she read the message, the weariness of the day falling away from her instantly.
“Thanks for your note Honey, dinner? - I make a wicked lasagne!”
Kate grinned as she typed her response “Yes please, I can be there in an hour!”
Kate was in a whirl as she flew home to shower and change, leaving the house in a strappy summer dress and sandals, her still-wet hair piled on top of her head. She threw a bag into the boot with a change of clothes -- sh
