Alana’s POV
“Oh honey, I’ll miss you so much. Don’t forget to visit us often” mom said as she was hugging me tight.
“Baby girl, please let go of her. She can barely breathe” dad said pulling mom gently away from me.
“I’ll be fine mom. Besides I’ll have Lloyd and Lucas with me. They’ll keep an eye on me and we’re only like two hours away” I replied.
Dad hugged me and I could feel his body trembling a little. I’m his baby girl and leaving the nest is hard for my parents to handle.
I wiped a tear from dad’s eyes and kissed his cheek “I love you dad. I’ll visit, I promise”
I picked up my bag, the rest was already in the trunk of my car. Walking out of the house, I spotted Lloyd and Lucas saying their goodbyes to their parents. I gave mom and dad another hug.
“I love you guys!” I said as tears finally fell from my eyes.
“We love you too” I heard mom say.
“Good luck honey” dad said giving me a kiss on my forehead.
“Thank you! I’ll keep in contact as much as I can. Please take care of Jade. We already said our goodbyes last night. Tell her to be good in school okay?”
I hugged them one last time, if I keep hugging them, I’ll never leave. I waved goodbye and walked towards my car.
Lloyd’s POV
Mom was crying really hard. Dad had to console her while giving us an embarrassed smile. I couldn’t help but laugh and hug them. Mom has always been the dramatic type.
Lucas was coming out of the house with the last couple of bags on his shoulders.
“Ready dude?” I asked him.
“Ready. Bye mom and dad” he said hugging them and walking towards the car. I think he couldn’t wait to leave and be independent.
“Well, just don’t forget to visit us and please take care of Alana. Samuel is one overprotective dad. If anything happens to his little girl, you won’t hear the end of it” mom said jokingly.
I laughed and nodded “We will mom”. And I would make sure of it. We’ve been friends since we were kids. And there was something about her that caught my attention.
Especially in high school. She turned into this beautiful girl and I couldn’t help but admire her. She didn’t know it, and I rather keep it that way. Keep it a secret.
We walked to the car and next to it was hers. “Hi boys! Ready for our journey?” She asked.
“Journey? Alana it’s only a couple of hours of ride” I replied smirking.
“I know smart ass, I meant college. Isn’t that exciting?”
“Yes it is, now let’s go!” We heard Lucas yell from the car. I laughed and got in the car, Alana doing the same.
We were ready for the time of our lives.
