A Warning
On their return to Harkin Manor, Lizzy and Julia learned of the recent return of James Harkin and his friend William Addison from their lengthy trip abroad. Obviously, with her son home, Nellie Harkin was ready to resume a full social calendar and needed the services of the Barton girls—including the sometimes difficult Lizzy. Although she was equally as interested in having the talented Julia there to play at her soirees and festive parties. Yes, with the young men back, she had had every reason to turn her attention to a full social life. Nellie was flustered and giddy with so much to do, but happier than ever.
