Chapter 03: Bullies

— Mall —

"Leonard can you walk faster? I forgot to buy a sketch pad" Utos ni Ravi habang malalaki ang hakbang papuntang National bookstore.

"Y-yes, sir" Halos hindi marinig na sagot naman ni Leonard. Paano ba naman ay lima-lima ang dala nitong paper bag na puno ng gamit ni Ravi—and they're heavy as hell.

After they went to UST to enrolled Ravi. Ravi decided to buy his needs for his new school and appliances for his dorm.

Mga damit at grocery bags palang ang dala ni Leonard dahil 'yung mga gamit para sa dorm ni Ravi ay napagdesisyunang i-deliver nalang sa dorm nito.

"Just wait me here." sabi nito at pumasok sa loob ng NBS at iniwan si Leonard sa labas habang dala-dala ang napakaraming paper bag.

Hinanap agad ni Ravi ang section kung saan makukuha ang sketch pad nya. But suddenly someone bumped into him while walking through the section.

"What the—can you see where you are going?" pabalang na tanong nito sa nakabangga sa kanya.

A girl with a ponytail fix her glasses. "I-im sorry.." the girl shyly mumbled. Umalis na agad ito sa harapan at agad tumakbo papunta sa likuran ni Ravi.

"Nerd.." bulong nya at lumingon sa direksyon na pinuntahan nito.

"Oh there she is—pay for this, Elaine." Napakunot ang noo ni Ravi sa nakita. Someone greets the nerd, however it does not seem that they're actually her friends.

There are three of them who greeted the nerd, all of them touched her shoulder— and it feels like they're forcing her to pay for their things.

"Is this a kind of bullying?" tanong ni Ravi sa sarili.

"Is not my business tho.." sagot nya rin sa tanong nya

Bumalik na uli si Ravi sa ginagawa at kinuha ang dapat bilhin. Ngunit hindi nya maiwasang hindi sumilay sa apat na babae sa counter.

"That's a lot.." bulong nya uli sa sarili nang makita ang lahat na babayaran ni ponytail-girl.

Pumila na sya sa counter upang bayaran ang kinuha. Nakita nya rin ang pag-alis nung apat sa NBS, napabuntong hininga nalamang si Ravi.

"Sir Ravi.. uuwi na po ba tayo" tanong ni Leonard pagkalabas nya ng NBS.

"Yep—but I'm going to the restroom muna.." sabi nito at binigay ang binili kay Leonard. Another dagdag na naman sa kanyang bitbit.

Huminto muna sila sa Restroom, lalampasan palang nila ang Girls restroom when they heard a loud noise from the inside.

"Hala, ano yun?" tanong ni Leonard sa sarili na narinig naman ni Ravi.

Ravi already have thoughts about the noise, since this restroom was just right beside of the NSB.

It's the bullies and the nerd.

Muling napabuntong hininga si Ravi. He really can't stop himself from mixing in, especially when the bullies are involved.

That's why people called him a trouble maker.

Walang sabi-sabi na pumasok sya sa loob, tinawag pa sya ni Leonard pero hindi na nya pinansin 'yon.

"S-sir girls restroom po yan! "

"You're very rich right?—then it's nothing to you if I ruin this gucci bag of yours?"

"Stop stacy! kunin mo na ang pera ko but not my bag, it was my mother's gift to me!" Paiyak na sigaw ni Elaine, hindi man nya makita ang ginagawa ni Stacy dahil sa pagkakulong sa kanya sa loob ng cubicle, alam nyang hawak nito ang kanyang bag at sigurado syang sisirain nila 'yon.

"Ow dear— we don't care! hahaha " malakas na tawang lintaya nito at binuhos ang coffee na hawak sa bag ni Elaine.

"Hmm... ang baho na ng bag mo elaine? amoy kape na, what if itapon ko na 'to?" paranig nito kay Elaine sa loob ng cubicle.

"OH MY GHAD NO!! I SWEAR STACY, DON'T DO IT OR ELSE—"

"Or else what? isusumbong mo ako sa dad mo? don't you remember that our parents were business partners? and because of your bad reputation did you think he will still trust you more than me na inaanak nya?"

"You manipulative b***h!" galit na boses na sambit ni Elaine.

"You are worse than me, Elaine—Tingin mo ba mababago lahat ng ginawa mo if you change your appearance, no..no you still the same Elaine..you disgraceful little-b***h. "

"I hate you." tanging nasabi nalamang ni Elaine. Wala syang magawa sa sitwasyon nya, hindi nya mapipigilan si stacy sa balak nito. She can only curse her but can't do anything.

"Anyways. I should have cut this bag muna— Lexi can I have the scissor?" Hingi nito ng gunting sa kasama na binigay naman nang nangangalang Lexi—kasama ang gunting sa mga pinabili nya mula kay Elaine.

Pero hindi natuloy ang plano nyang pag-sira sa bag nang may biglang humablot ng gunting mula sa kanya.

"What the?—who are you?" tanong ni Stacy kay Ravi nang bigla itong sumulpot na parang kabute sa gilid nya.

"You're not allowed here—it's a girls restroom!"

"Yes I'm not, but you're not also allowed to bully someone in here... so I had to take a video as evidence —" Sagot nito at pinakita ang hawak na cellphone that contains the video of their doings.

Stacy gasped. Sinamaan nya ng tingin ang mga kasama na hindi ni-lock ang pintuan ng restroom.

Magpapaliwanag sana si Stacy nang may malamig at maasim na bagay na binuhos si Ravi sa kanya.

It's a vinegar from the gocery bag that Leonard carrying.

"Hmm.. you smells like vinegar? what if itapon narin kita?" Sarkastikong lintaya ni Ravi sa dalaga na kinalaki ng bibig nito sa gulat—napahawak naman sya sa buhok at inamoy 'yon.

"YUCKKK!!" Hiyaw nya nang maamoy ang sarili.

"Leonard, take these girls out of my sight!." Utos nya kay Leonard na nakatayo sa likod nya. Hindi nya pinigilan ang amo dahil sa palagay nya ay deserve naman ito ng mga babaeng bully.

Sinunod naman ito ni Leonard at hinila ang tatlong babae na sa tingin nya ay mga highschooler palang.

Nang makaalis na si Leonard kasama ang tatlo, doon lamang inalis ni Ravi ang nakaharang na drum na sa tingin nya ay gamit ng mga janitor rito sa mall.

Hindi nya alam kung saan nila nakuha 'tong drum na 'to, however at least he can now set Elaine free.

Nang mabuksan nya ang pinto ng cubicle, nadatnan nya si Elaine na nakaupo sa bowl at nakatungong umiiyak.

"Hey nerd, they are already gone—tumayo kana dyan" tawag nya dito ngunit hindi man lang ito kumibo at nagpatuloy parin sa pag-iyak.

"Whatever, you can help yourself." saad ni Ravi at halata ang pagka-irita sa boses dahil sa hindi pagpansin sa kanya ni Elaine.

Aalis na sana sya nang bigla magsalita si Elaine. " T-thank you.." Elaine mumbled as he sniff bacause of tears

Ravi won't admit to himself that he is taking a pity on this girl. Pero wala namang masama kung makausap nya ang dalagita kahit saglit lang?

"Stand up, I'll treat you a coffee."

" So she was your rival?" Ulit na tanong ni Ravi matapos i-kwento ni Elaine kung ano ang koneksyon nya kay Stacy

They're in coffee shop outside the mall. Leonard is also there, he came back after taking those girls in the security office. Leonard also makes sure that the video was taken by the authority so the girls will have their punishment.

"Y-yes. We used to compete in everything it's either at school or parties—yet I'm more popular than her so she became jealous of me"

"It's more of a cliche drama to me.." sumang-ayon naman doon si Elaine at muling pinapatuloy ang kwento.

"I'm more active before. Wild kid with no worries in life—I could get what I want since I'm genius, everything i do was splended on everyone's eyes."

Ravi raised his eyebrows. Now he's persuaded that this person isn't a nerd at all— She's just pretending to be a nerd.

"But everything was ruined when I mix myself with danger. I once attended a party before but I didn't know that some kids at the party were taking drugs—so police came in and arrested all of us thinking that we were all taking a dose, which is not. And that news spread through the internet like a wildfire— then after that my reputation peaks into downfall, even my dad became disappointed to me.".

Kwento nito sa pangyayare—gusto sanang sabihin ni Ravi na pasok sa GMA drama ang kwento nya.

"So you wanted to change for the better? but those bees keep pestering you?" Ravi asked with a crossed-arms

"Ganun na nga.. I can't fight back since I don't want to cause troubles again—so I let them bully me. For now they are just taking my money or destroying my things, but what if they continue more? maybe they would do much worse."

Ravi held his cheeks and looks at Elaine's eyes with a serious face. "You know brat.. changing yourself is not a better solution. People always find a reason to hate you—kahit magpaka-santo ka pa, their insecurities will always follow you, However your parents disappointment may appear but I know it will end soon— don't change yourself just to please someone, Elaine."

Natahimik si Elaine sa turan sa kanya ni Ravi. Napatitig sya sa binata na kinailang naman ni Ravi.

"What?" masungit na tanong nito.

"Why you giving me advices... are you pitying me?" halata ang pagka-irita sa boses nito.

"I'm a liar, if I told you I'm not..but yeah—you look pathetic a while ago." Ravi replied with smirk plastered on his face. Meanwhile, Elaine rolled her eyes, irritated to the latter.

Ravi chuckled, he doesn't want to admit but he kinda sees himself from her.

"Oh well, brat. I have to go..kaya mo naman siguro ang sarili mo?" Pag-iiba ng usapan ni Ravi, at handa nang umalis.

"Wait—uhm. May I know your name?" pigil sa kanya ni Elaine.

Ravi smirked " Ravi Zein Martinez " Elaine's face light up, dahil nalaman nya ang pangalan ng taong tumulong sa kanya.

"I'm Elaine Servantes and thank you for helping me kanina. "

Tumango lamang si Ravi at walang lingon-lingon na lumabas ng Coffee shop na sinundan naman ni Leonard na hanggang ngayon ay dala-dala parin ang mga pinamili.

However, a minute ago after Ravi leaves the coffee shop. A young man with lip piercing came inside.

"Elaine!" He calls.

"Kuya!" Masayang bati ni Elaine sa kapatid, tumakbo naman ito at niyakap ang kanyang kuya.

"Are you okay? someone's bullying you again?" Nag-aalalang tanong nito sa nakakabatang kapatid

" Yup, but someone helps me—so I'm fine now." Elaine said with a smile, remembering the face of her savior.

"Mabuti naman—" Bakas ang ginhawa sa boses nito.

Kumalas naman ng yakap si Elaine sa kapatid. " Nga pala kuya, did Dad contact you?"

Nawala ang ngiti ng kapatid sa tanong ni Elaine at sumimangot ito na pinagtaka naman ng dalaga.

"Yeah. He's now in legazpi— and he was ordering me to babysit a brat, the heck!" inis na lintaya nito sa kapatid.

"What? HAHAHA, do you know the name?" natatawang tanong nito. Hindi nya ma-imagine na ang kapatid nyang si Elijah Servantes ay mag-aalaga ng bata.

"Yeah..old gezeer told me that he was the son of uncle Ezekiel. I think—Ravi Zein Martinez?" sagot nito sa kapatid ngunit halata parin ang inis sa boses nito.

Samantalang, dahan-dahan nawala ang ngiti ni Elaine sa pangalang narinig.

"WHAT?!"
