16 LONDON, 2021 AD Jake spent days on end indoors studying demonology and the more he studied the more frightened he became. On the first day, he realised that demons were created by God but the Creator had not intended them to be evil beings. All religions agreed that demons were no other than fallen angels. Their nature made them more dangerous because they retained much of their angelic power, such as their knowledge of spiritual matters and their ability to foresee the future. They always acted to the detriment of mankind, seeking to obstruct man’s passage to salvation by turning his attention away from the worship of God to the perverted and misplaced worship of demons. This much was clear to Jake, who then concentrated his attention on demons in relation to the Anglo-Saxon period.
