She hauled it down, stepping back at the same time, then hopped up onto the door. She walked forward, her fleshy feet making quiet little squeaks on the oven’s window glass. Deb picked up the big cutting board and kept going, while Jeff grabbed a handful of dishtowels after all. The oven mitts were now on the bottom of that open door and out of reach.
