Friday and Saturday at the shop went just about as expected with the exception that they were busier than normal for the middle of January. As a result, Lyle spent much of both days on the floor, helping out. A large company sent in several of their employees to be dressed in Twenties outfits for a promotion, and another one needed the two actors they’d hired to be costumed as Arthur and Guinevere, also for a promotion. Of course the actors appeared an hour before closing on Saturday.
The man playing Arthur had an ego the size of the Titanic, so it took all of Joseph’s normal unflappable composure to get him fitted without laying into him.
“You got lucky,” he grumbled to Elaine at one point. “Your lady is, well, a lady.”
Elaine grinned. “Luck of the draw.”
“Trade you?”
“As if.”
