Chapter 5

I cupped my flushed cheeks as I bolted out of the elevator, and screamed inside my head, wondering what I felt was real or if it was a fragment of my imagination. He was thick and so big, I squealed. In my sorry state, I bumped into someone, my chest colliding with the head of the person who was in front. “If this ain't heaven, I don't know what else is,” a feminine voice rang in my ears, followed by a raspy chuckle of a man. Shocked at the woman's audacity to grope my breasts and squeeze them, I stumbled back, coming face to face with grinning Jane and her fiancé, Alex. “Jane, what are you doing here?” I asked, relaxing after knowing it was her who was groping my boobs out in the open. “We’re on our last date as boyfriend and girlfriend. Soon we will be married so we wanted to celebrate our last time together as a boyfriend and girlfriend,” she smiled, dreamily gazing into Alex's eyes who returned the intensity of her love gaze. I smiled at the adorable couple in front of me, thinking back to the day they first met. It was on the day my divorce was finalized. Jane is from Australia and during the time I discovered Mason’s affair, she was back in her home country to look after her sick father. As she was already going through a lot, I never mentioned my divorce to her. She somehow found out a day before our divorce got finalized and she immediately rushed back to support me. Thankfully, her father has recovered by the time. She was waiting for me outside the court and the moment she saw us coming out, she roared and charged at Mason. Alex was there to pick up Mason to take him to the project they were working on together and when he saw Jane charging at Mason with murderous intent, he came in between and punched Mason with all his might. That shocked Jane and she stopped dead in her tracks. To protect her from becoming a criminal, he punched his best friend. Why? Because the moment he saw her feisty self, he was whipped. That left an impression on both of them and they sought out each other through me. I set them up and the rest is history. I wanted both of my special people to get together and be happy. As to why and how Alex became a special friend to me… I wasn't in my right mind when I was handed the divorce papers and it was Alex who offered to find a good lawyer for me and he did. He had a fallout with Mason because of me after that, who was his childhood best friend, saying he couldn't be friends with cheaters. If it weren't for the project they were working on together, Alex wouldn't be there to pick him up after our divorce. One thing about Alex is, he is choosy when it concerns his surroundings. He only befriends high-caliber men and what Mason did instantly made him a lowly bastard and undeserving of being Alex’s friend. That's exactly how Alex portrayed his words in front of Mason. It was low of me but I felt good seeing the hurt expression on Mason's face. End of the story. “That's so cute. I won't hold you back from enjoying your date,” I snapped out of my thoughts and smiled at them. “Hehe, I will call you after my date, “ Jane giggled, mouthing “to give you all the details.” Alex who saw through just shook his head helplessly. “Okay,” After bidding them goodbye, I hid myself in my hotel room until I safely made it back to my apartment. It was my luck to not meet my tormentors again and I'm glad I hid myself in my room long enough for other guests to leave. ~•~ “Good Morning, Eclipse,” Sam greeted me on my way to the office. I smiled at him and greeted him. “Do I have anything on my schedule today?” “No, you're free until Ms. Jane’s Wedding ceremony,” He answered, double-checking my schedule to make sure he was presenting me with the right schedule. “How is her wedding preparation coming along?” I asked him. When Jane announced her wedding, I offered to prepare her wedding celebration as my wedding gift to her. Giving her the dream wedding is the least I could give her as her friend. “Everything is going smoothly, you don't have to worry about anything,” Sam assured me. “I have faith in my team so I'm not worried. I know they will prepare a perfect wedding for Jane,” I smiled. “Oh, right! Jane gave me her wedding invitation to pass along to you, I keep forgetting to give it to you. Here.” I handed him the card, and seeing the invitation, a smirk crawled its way on his face. “Will Lilith be there?” He asked me. “Yes,” I replied. “Why do you ask though?” “I have been calling her but she is not answering. If she will be at the wedding, I will have a chance to talk to her,” he chuckled. “She is just shy and I can bet millions that she feels guilty towards you so she is thinking it's better to not get in contact with you. I suggest you confront her face to face and resolve this,” I said. “Thank you for the advice, Boss. I will keep that in mind,” he smiled. “I came today to inform you that you will come with me to Jane's wedding party she is hosting before the wedding. You haven't been off work for a while so it will be the perfect opportunity to relax. Plus, your Lilith will be there too,” I said. “You don't have to tell me twice, I will go there with you,” San grinned, hearing that Lilith would be there too. “It's going to be a three-day trip so pack accordingly. There will be a pool party on the last day, other than that it will just be us all spending time together,” I informed him of everything he needed to consider to pack his things. Sam nodded his head in understanding and a day later we headed to a private beach on a private island owned by Alex’s grandfather. Other than Jane’s close friend, some of Alex’s friends and business partners were present as well. I expected to run into Mason there, but thankfully, I didn't spot him or anyone else I didn't want to cross paths with so I relaxed, and enjoyed my three days surrounded by my close friends. While I was bonding with my friends, Sam was busy pursuing Lilith. He ended up confronting her and a day later they started dating because they had already wasted enough time away from each other. It was the happiest day of my life. I was happy that all of my best friends were getting their happy endings. It wasn't until the wedding that I was thrown into a situation that I didn't want to end up in. ~•~
