Chapter 11

My expert employees prepared the event for Warran’s company with perfection. The end look was ethereal, and Warren and Erebus praised my employees for their perfection in planning an event. As their employer, it was a proud moment. They planned one of the best events planned by my company, and this event will surely be a breakthrough for my business. “Today is the event, so keep your eyes open for mistakes. Once this event ends, you all will get a big bonus and a big company celebration,” I told my employees a few hours before the incident. My announcement made my employees cheer. “What are we getting this time, Boss?” Natasha, one of my employees, asked with excitement. “We are going on a company getaway. Once the event is over, let’s discuss where you guys want to go,” I said. “You’re the best, Ms. Eclipse,” everyone cheered, and in a happy mood, they returned to check on the event. “Sam, come with me to get ready. We need to look the best for this one,” I pulled Sam out of the banquet hall and into my hotel room, where stylists awaited us. Thank you for coming on such short notice. Sam is my companion for the night, so do your best.” “He is already good-looking; we won’t have to work hard on him. You both are already winning in the looks department. Shall we get ready for the night, then?” The stylist, Serene, said. Serene has always got me ready for every event, as I suck at choosing dresses other than suits. I’m only an expert when it comes to suits, but I'm not so much about dresses. “What style are you feeling today?” Serene asked. “Sexy,” I chuckled. “Sexy it is. Girls, bring out the black one,” Serene said to her assistant, who brought out a black off-shoulder gown. “Do her makeup and hair until I get this gentleman ready.” Serene took Sam to the other room to get him ready. Meanwhile, the girls did soft, glam makeup with bright red lips. They curled my hair into waves and did a side part. They pinned one side of the hair, so one side of my hair stayed behind my exposed shoulder. “Girls, get her into the dress,” Serene’s assistant told the others. Two girls helped me get into the dress without ruining my hair. “You look perfect.” I blushed at their compliment and turned to face the mirror. I softly gasped at the woman before me. This was the first time I ditched my dull, soft girl look and accepted a style I never had. The gown clashed with my usual preference but brought out the best in me. The off-shoulder sleeves of the gown showed on my long neck and shoulder, while the waist of the dress hugged me perfectly. As there was a slit on the gown, my thick thighs were exposed in the most flattering way. I liked the detailing on the side of the waist. The details were made with embellishments, and with the same embellishment, the dress came with sheer tights that hid my exposed legs. The dress wasn’t overwhelmingly exposed. It has the right amount of decency and sexiness. The dress had sleeves only on one side, which I liked as it enhanced the look of the dress. The assistant paired the dress with a black necklace emboldened with rubies that went along with the look. I wore my heels to finalize the look and was ready for the ball. “You guys did a great job,” Serene said, entering the room with Sam, who looked dashing in a black suit. “You look great, Boss,” Sam complimented me. “So do you. Lilith wouldn’t be able to take her eyes off you tonight,” I commented, making him blush. I smiled at his reaction and said, “It’s time for us to go. Wear the mask, and let’s go.” When Serene picked up the mask, Sam said, “Let me do it,” and helped me wear it. I also helped him. After Sending Serene off, we made our way to the banquet hall. “Eclipse,” Warren rasped from behind. We were near the entrance of the hall when he called me. I paused on my track and turned to face him. Once again, they came without any companion, even when I sent them a note with the mask I sent to remind them that they should come with a companion. “Where are your partners for the ball?” I asked them. “You look breathtaking as always, love,” Warren ignored my words and kissed the back of my hand. My skin tingled where his lips touched, and I tried to hide my reaction to them, but my deep, fast breathing gave it away. Warren’s eyes twinkled with satisfaction after seeing my response to his simple touch. I pulled my hand away from his grasp as if he burned me, but Warren grasped it again and closed the distance between us. He came so close that our chests touched each other. I craned my head to look him in the eyes. He smiled at me softly and bent down to whisper in my ear, “If you are concerned, why not become our companion?” He kissed my cheeks and pulled back, waiting for my answer. “As you can see, I already have a companion,” I rasped, tugging at Sam’s arm, hoping he would intervene and take me away, but Sam distanced himself from us so Warren could easily talk to me. When I glared at Sam, he looked away, feigning ignorance. “It’s a pity we missed out on such a pretty companion. Maybe next time, we can attend the event together,” Warren said, and with Erebus, he took off, entering the ball before me. When Erebus was about to pass me, he stopped, kissed me on the cheeks, and wished me a pleasurable night. They left me hot and bothered, and the event hadn’t even started. Only God knows how I would survive. “Let’s go, Sam,” I entered the ball with Sam, nodding in satisfaction at the vibe and decoration. “You did a good job sending everyone a different mask,” Sam said. “I had a feeling that some would wear the same mask, so I sent everyone a pair. All the guests are complimenting their partner,” I said. “Tonight is going to be a hit,” Sam said excitedly. After all the guests came, Warren and Erebus announced the start of the event. I got busy exchanging pleasantries with my business partners and possible business partners. Everyone praised me for the event planning, and I spent a few hours engaging in light conversation. After greeting everyone, I entered the balcony to get some fresh air. Soon, Warren and Erebus came into the balcony. “What are you doing here?” I asked them, tuning around when I smelled them. “There is something I have been dying to do, and now that we are alone, I can’t wait any longer,” Erebus said, pulling me aside so we hid behind the thick curtains. Before I could react, his lips were on me. I moaned when my lips touched his, and I opened my mouth for his probing tongue. Erebus pressed me against the wall and pressed himself flush against me. I liked how his body engulfed me, hiding me from the peeking moon, so I gave in to his touch. No, I gave in to him even before his lips touched me. I knew he was about to kiss me as his hungry eyes were all but devouring my lips. I pulled him closer by his hair and deepened the kiss. When Erebus pulled away, I whimpered, “Give me more.” Erebus growled in satisfaction and kissed me again. Before we could take it further, screams came from the banquet hall, “There is a fire.” Shocked by the scream, I pushed Erebus away and ran to the hall. I stumbled when I saw the hall engulfed in flames. ~.~
