8 Asim grudgingly rolled out of bed early the next morning. The insistent someone pounding on his door had refused to leave when he hadn’t answered it in the first few minutes. He glanced at Pearl and saw she was watching him with an amused smile. “I have to answer that,” he said, bending over to brush a kiss across her lips. Pearl chuckled and nodded. “I think I know who it is,” she replied, throwing the covers back and sliding out of the bed. “Dragon’s fire, but I would be willing to ignore them to keep you in my bed,” Asim said. “Your eyes are flashing again.
