“I can’t believe you told him about my plan!” Shin exclaimed, pacing back and forth inside his room. He was ruffling his hair, frustrated that his best friend betrayed him just like that.
On the other hand, Kazuhiko was lying flat on his stomach while munching on a pack of beans. He was scanning the television for something to watch, not really paying attention to any of what Shin was saying.
“To top it all,” he continued, “Nii-san knows about Rowie now. He knows that I am doing all this because of a girl. What if he pulls back on the task given to him so that he can get back at me?”
“He can’t pull back from something his boss has placed him on,” Kazu said, his mouth full of beans.
“I know. But what if? I can’t stop thinking about it.” He slumped on the sofa and looked at the ceiling.
