Holding both unopened bottles of beer in one hand, Jo caught the belt loop on the back of Kevin’s jeans and followed his newfound friend out of the kitchen. Kevin weaved through the crowd with ease, Jo bumping along behind him. “Know where you’re going?” Jo called out over the noise, but they were passing the stairs leading down to the garage and the music drowned out the sound of his voice. If Kevin heard him, he didn’t answer. The living room was packed—people danced in the middle of the room, and every spot on the furniture was already claimed by couples making out.
