Mystery behind the devil

*ROSA* My brows creased, watching her weep for unidentified reasons. I got up and grabbed her hands in mine. " What is your concealment, Bella? Please tell me." "They weren't set free Luna Rosa, they were killed by Alpha Damon. THEY DIED. "They what?" Bella sighed wiping her tears, she drew me to my bed and we both sat down. I couldn't wrap up the information nor did I accept it to be true. Bella had to be playing a trick or better still trying to scare me. Yeah, that's an adequate way to put it. "Little to no one knows the true story behind Alpha Damon's Lunas. What I am about to tell you is of bizarre knowledge to everyone in this pack, even Belle." Bella's tone was one for no joke, it was too profound to tag lies. "A year ago I stumbled on Alpha Damon and the council members. They were discussing a brewing war between the Blood Sky pack. Alpha Fernando was as said blinded by rage for the loss of his daughter, Luna Delphine. He wanted revenge for her death and so he sent a message to deliver his threats. "There was a massive explosion in Blood Sky a year ago and a high rate of death. I heard their Alpha was banished by the people for messing with the devil." Pieces fell into place and my stomach churned in distress. My heart raced as Bella verified my words with a nod. "Alpha Fernando was traumatized by the death of his daughter, same with Alpha Xex, but Xex never dared to avenge. The words of Alpha Damon were that they both deserved it. Something strange about those incidents was that both Lunas were given out in exchange for resources that each pack greatly needed." They were sold just like me, but Damon didn't exchange me for resources, Night shadow pack is never out of resources. I am sure it was Uncle Jerome's greediness. "Does that mean they were sold?" "If you put it that way, There are so many ways the story goes. Some people think the Lunas were caught cheating and then punished, but I have never agreed to any of the people's judgments." "So I have the same fate as Damon's Lunas?" I abruptly found it hard to breathe, "Am…am I going to die too." I asked, murmuring to myself. "Of course, I will probably end up like them, right?" talking louder this time "No Luna Rosa, please calm down and listen to me." Bella grabbed my hand but I snatched it away from her tender grip. "I am going to die in the hands of the monster and you desire me to calm down. No, I can't." I stood up and paced like a doomed wolf. Yes, very doomed. "Luna Rosa, Luna Rosa listen to me. I can help you." Bella's words didn't quite register in my ears for a moment until she recounted. "I said I can help you, Luna Rosa. I can help you escape from here." I halted on my track and swerved to find her smiling. "You want to help ?" "Yes, I know it's very risky, but I can help you, I feel that you are too special to end up like the other Lunas. I simply want you to assure my safety and that of my sister." I had no words to convey my gratitude, I walked to where she stood and pulled her into a tight hug. My tears stained the shoulder of her plain black dress. "Thank you so much. I promise to reward you for your kindness." "Luna Rosa I don't wish to be rewarded with anything, I only want assurance for my safety. Grant me this and I will help you with whatever you need." "I promise Bella, I promise to protect you Bella, I swear on my life. This is a Luna's promise to you." "I know you won't fail me. My shift isn't over yet, I need to get back to work. Belle and I will visit by sundown. "Thank you again, Bella." "Bye Luna Rosa." Bella excused herself and I was left with my thoughts. My wedding is in 4 days, I need to strategize a plan, first I need a journal to jot down my introspections to help us get around. I took to digging through the drawers in my room looking for a journal and a pen. Unfortunately, I didn't find any. I doubt the maids would have any, not everyone is privileged to get an education especially Omegas, Bella wasn't an option. I strolled out of my room, hoping to find Indila. She could help me find a pen and a journal without any stress, but how would I find her in this larger Manor? I glanced at both sides and met a maid marching up the stairs. Perfect. "Hey!" I waved and gestured for her to come to me. "Good morning Luna Rosa." She greeted me with a bow. "Morning, do you know where I can find Indila?" "She's on errand duty today Luna Rosa, she left with Alpha Damon." "Oh! I see, thank you." The maid bowed and went on her way. Indila was out and so was Damon, I bet he has a few journals to spare. I closed my door and made my way up the stairs. I got to his room and found it latched. What a dead end for me. I hoofed turning to leave when I recalled Indila's words, Damon only had his meals in his room or study. If I could find it, I might be lucky to have it open. Where would Damon's study be, is it downstairs or further up, only two hallways were left after the one I stood, his study had to be in one of them. I headed up and arrived on the next floor, only two rooms were situated there. The first was locked and I silently prayed it wasn't his study. I went to the other and pulled the handle, it creaked open, much to my anticipation. I breathed a sigh of relief finding the opened door to be Damon's study. I walked in and his scent filled my nostrils, a pungent smell of Citrus and manliness. Butterflies danced in my stomach but I ignored it. Damon's scent lingered in the large room filled with bookshelves. It looked like a maze of bookshelves, magnificent. A desk stood in the middle of Damon's book maze and a king-sized bed stood right at a corner. the walls were painted in gold and the floor was made out of oak wood. I smacked my head realizing I was wasting time. I began my search around his drawers skipping his loaded shelves, which I must reveal were fascinating. With everything neatly arranged, I carefully search for an unused journal and a pen or two. Damon's drawers had no journal and I was left with his desk, which, unlike the tidy study, looked messy. Lots of papers were planted on it. They all had something scribbled on it. I was left to wonder what the mystery behind the devil was. I had no time to scoop around his things, unsure of when he would arrive. I ignored his messy desk and continued my search. After 10 minutes of fruitless search, I found a journal, worse in the least place I expected, they were starked on the shelf staring at me as I made a fool out of myself. "Tsk.." I hissed and picked one up, I found a pile of Capillaries action dip pens and I took one. My mission was complete and it was time for me to leave. I walked to the door and on my track heard the alarming sound of footsteps approaching. Was it this room or the other, I didn't know. I followed my instincts and hid behind the numerous shelves. The door opened and I froze, I prayed for it to be someone else and not Damon which was silly because I was currently in his study. To my surprise, Amelia's ugly frame came into view. Her careful movement showed she wasn't here for Damon. What is she planning? She strolled to Damon's desk and took something from the pile of paper. A small jewelry box, if my guess is right. She opened the small box and took out a diamond ring. The sun reflected on its beautiful crystal pattern and Amelia smiled. "Let's see what Damon thinks about his new Luna, being a thief." Oh, I see, so this was her plan all along, how dare this pesky witch try to frame me. She dipped it into her dress pocket, took out a small vial, and poured its contents on the floor, she left after her stunt, as carefully as she came in. I came out of my hiding place and approached whatever she dumped on the floor. I dipped my hand in the tiny pool and sniffed it. It smelt of a delicate Eviona , a rare type of blossom flower. Hardly seen but known for its magical works of wearing of anyone's scent. She spilled it here to wear off her scent. I quickly followed after her, maintaining a good distance, thanks to her genius plan, Damon would not find out I was in his study. Amelia stopped out of the manor and walked towards the garden, I followed her, keeping my presence a secret. She stopped by the maze and paced about. Soon a maid appeared from nowhere and Amelia handed her the box. She whispered words to the maids, but I needed no soothsayer to tell me what they were discussing. "Pesky witch, I will show you who's smarter," I muttered under my breath and walked away. I remained outdoors keeping a close eye on the maid Amelia assigned to frame me. Being outside would mean she had the perfect opportunity to do her dirty deed if only she knew. Finally, she made her long-anticipated move, finding her way into my room. The moment she closed the door behind her, I opened it, startling her very being. In an attempt to take out the box, it fell off her trembling hands and her eyes met mine. "I…I….pl…please Luna Rosa. Spare me." "Spare you? Why? From the look of things, you tried to get me in trouble. Hmmm! tsk! Alpha Damon is not going to appreciate your actions, is he?" I mocked the maids and watched her shiver. "Pl…please Luna Rosa. I did it for…for my son, please spare me. Mistress Amelia promises to spare me healing herbs." It was hard to believe after what she had agreed to, but I had my plans, and if Amelia was trying to take advantage of a poor maid, I might as well teach her a lesson. "I will spare you if you do something for me." "Anything at all Luna Rosa, I am ready to do anything." "Good." "Reverse case, that's what I want you to do for me. Everything Amelia asked you to do. You do for me now. Understood?" "Yes, Luna Rosa." "Get to work." The maid scurried out while I smiled victoriously, this should be fun.
