Later that day, while Thompson was in the office, he called Dora and asked her to set aside some time for him on the following day. As it wasn’t the way things were normally done, Dora couldn’t believe her ears. “What is this all about,” she wondered.
“Stephen is coming back,” Thompson replied, “so it would be in everyone’s interest if we had a face-to-face conversation for once.”
At first Dora had thought that Thompson had wanted to start a relationship with her, so she was disappointed, but she decided to not let it get her down. She would still get to have dinner with him, and she planned to cherish every moment that they were together.
