Once Julie was alone, she called Thompson and asked him if Jasmine had enough money to buy out all of the shareholders at an inflated rate. Thompson explained that she didn’t. Even with Linda’s assets attached to her own, their total worth was under five hundred thousand dollars. He said, “I cannot imagine how she hopes to come up with enough money. Of course, she could sell their home, but where would they live if she did?”
“Do you still have my back?” Julie wondered.
“Of course I do,” Thompson replied.
Julie smiled and said, “That is good. Between you and me, I have no doubt in my mind that we can’t get the best of Laurence and Jasmine!”
