Matthew’s POV-
After dinner was ordered, I honestly could not help but keep glancing at Eilith. I wanted to make sure she was okay, but at the same time, I couldn’t stop staring at her beauty. She was so focused on her work, even though she was hurting on the inside. I was impressed with her willpower to move forward. The way she stared at me, when she came out of the bathroom, made me feel a sense of joy and hope. I always said she was the perfect woman for me. That look gave me hope that maybe, just maybe, she wanted me to be her man.
Eilith’s phone began ringing, and when she went to grab it, she knocked it on to the floor. She muttered something under her breath, before leaning forward to pick it up. That was when I saw a scar on her lower back. She had her shirt tucked in early, so
