Chapter Two- A New Home

2315 Words
The intimidating figure who now slid into the car beside her effortlessly rested his elbow upon his thigh while he brought his focus to the stunning landscape now racing beside the window at his side, content and indifferent to the fact that he had simply transported Gabriella as if she was nothing more than a worthless shipping crate. She loathed this as he seemed to revel in the control he had over her, making her disgusted to be at his side. “I do not want to hurt you.” His words obliterated the silence between them as he turned to her, leaning just enough to gain access to the tie over her mouth before revealing her full and supple lips to him. For a single second, his thumb brushed her bottom lip for longer than intended until his eyes seemed to sparkle with mischievousness when meeting with hers that only remained to glare at him. “Don’t make me have to.” He threatened her as she quickly brought her focus to her surroundings in the attempt to conjure a way to return to America imminently. But as she looked towards the criminal at her side, for lack of information producing another title for him, she came to note how at least half of the land she was forced to reside on until the first day of the new year had been encased by water as her eyes moved beyond her handsome imprisoner. “I won’t be able to help you.” She explained as her voice trembled beside him, despite her attempts to try and speak calmly and courageously. “I am just a nurse…” “I thought so too until I saw you save that man’s life...against what you were taught-all to save his life. I simply wish for you to do the same for my father. I can obtain anything needed to ensure his life…” “I’ve noticed.” She spoke to herself in regards to him having ‘obtained’ her as he smirked at her sense of humor before letting out a scoff. “Am I allowed to know where you’re taking me?” She broke the silence once more as she prayed that he would release a fragment of truth that would allow her a hope of an escape-but it would seem that each of his words would simply darken the small illumination she kept present within her otherwise hopeless mind. “My home.” She rolled her eyes at his vague response before looking out her window as his voice drew her eyes in his direction once again. “What is it you would like me to say exactly? Would you wish for me to explain how it is that I managed to get you through a crowded airport while under a sedative? Or do you wish to know my boyish fears that now haunt me to this day? Either way, you will have to speculate yourself to reach an answer to either of these as I am not interested in explaining myself to you...for if I do...I fear you may fall in love with me and it may distract you from your purpose here.” She began to laugh violently while allowing her head to bow upwards in disbelief. “The only thing I will EVER feel for you is hostility as you are incapable of being decent…” “Do you believe so? If I was as abhorrent as you believe I could have simply seduced you until you were practically begging me to bring you here-made you fall helplessly head over heels in love with me and want to help my father-” “But instead you force me against my will and drug me into a different continent...And you want me to trust you?!” “I never said trust was needed. But you will refrain from speaking freely among any you may encounter...For if they are beneath my roof, they are under my employ and therefore useless to any attempt you may make to try and escape. Know now that you are present upon an island where the only way out or in is via my jet or my yacht-neither of which you will come to use freely.” He leaned even closer to her now as she attempted a different approach as she believed her following words may strike a sense of fear in him. “I have family...I have friends...I have a boyfriend-who will all look for me! My bosses...my colleagues! You cannot keep me here!” She suddenly scolded him as he released a single exhale and looked forward before seemingly ignoring her. “I do not know where you think you will get away with this or where you believed I would obey you blindly but I am not some girl who is desperate for an adventure like this-I simply want to go home-” “You wish to know who will come look for you? Do you hope for it?” She silenced at his words as he removed her phone from his side, turning on the screen and putting in her unlock code before finding a selfie of her and her parents before they had perished. His eyes scanned this for a moment before he opened up her messaging app to find nothing new since she had last texted. “You have been unconscious for ten hours and nobody has even attempted to call you. Not your distant family as I know you have none close...not your pathetic friends who only keep you close for obligation...and not your useless boyfriend who is far too busy keeping his nose in books to notice you...or am I wrong?” Not wishing to allow him the satisfaction of seeing the tears in her eyes, she turned entirely to the window while a tear escaped down her cheek. Unable to brush it away as it was impossible by her binds, she was left with its warm stream sliding down her right cheek. As her mind began to formulate a response that would only deepen his own annoyance in her, her eyes came to the sight of a luxurious villa hidden away from the rest of civilization set upon this unnamed island. A thick gate kept the sight of the house hidden until they were enclosed behind its iron embrace and she was in awe of the structure she was now set to call ‘home’. In a rather innocuous moment, he looked over to her to notice the streak left by the tear lessening the foundation upon her cheek to inform him that he had struck a chord with her while he had become lighthearted in seeing her eyes illuminate with the residence in front of her-ruining this by his next words. “Please do not subject me to carry you again, I will.” He threatened as she turned to him with a glare before finding her door to come open and two men standing on each side of her while her kidnapper stood directly abreast her figure as if he would lift his hand to her back-but seemed capable of keeping his touch to himself as he led her up a set of marble stairs that led to the front door. Having them opened without any of his fingerprints touching a single object, they were both allowed access into the home as her eyes jumped in every direction to take in every exquisite detail of the Italian mansion. Immediately upon entering was a staircase that led to a balcony that overlooked the entire living area as a whole. She had yet to learn where the corridors led once ascending the steps, but was too taken by the expensive details on ground level to think of this. Instead, her gaze lingered upon the useless sheer emerald curtains that were presented upon the far wall across from her before traveling towards the plush couch and quarts table decorated with fresh flowers, finalizing her observation with the impressive statues that lined the otherwise vapid spaces throughout the home. “Come.” He spoke possessively before taking hold of her elbow and leading her up the staircase and down a hall lined with priceless artwork of the very estate she was present upon during its own construction, making her feel the ambiance of the timeless exterior brought to life by the secret modern decor in its interior. “This will be your room.” He explained as he stopped at the final door at the end of the hall that had been arranged with six different locks from the outside; among them having been a deadbolt, a chain lock, and even a padlock. Her eyes looked to this before she rolled her eyes, much to his annoyance. “You have everything you will need until you are requested. If there is anything you need, you have an intercom within your room and guards outside your door. But remember what I told you...If you try to rescue yourself-it will only end badly for those you care for.” Leaving her with these words, he finally withdrew the binds from her wrists as he waited until she had entered the room before abandoning her with a million questions before the sounds of each lock detained her. Gabriella was aware she would not be able to convince the guards or even her lead captor of anything at this point. So instead, she decided to become familiar with her surroundings, with the hope that she could learn something that may help in her pending escape. The room she was given was far more spacious than the entire apartment that she had shared with Alec as she had a four post California King bed adorned with a lush comforter and enough pillows for every head in all of Italy as well as a stunning vanity across the room lined with three brands of every type of makeup a girl would ever need. But the further she ventured into the room, her eyes came to the sight of a walk-in closet lined with three separate rows of glass dividers that held shoes of every color, style, and variant in textures. Her fingers ran over a few of them as she noticed the far right wall had been notches holding purses of alternating brands and colors as well-while the remainder of the room had been harboring clothes that she could never imagine on affording-even if she were to marry Alec. Curious to know the brands before her, her fingers flipped the tags of Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton as the styles of each garment had differed drastically from a cocktail dress with a deep slit in the leg to a cinderella-style gown that took up nearly an entire corner of this lengthy and impressive closet. “I hope you are finding everything to your liking…” A voice spoke as she turned to spot her captor once again. “I had a feeling you would enjoy this…” “What’s it for?” His eyes looked to her in confusion before he scoffed. “For you.” It seemed for just a brief moment that perhaps these words had been spoken with kindness, but the grin that followed these words had reminded her of his heartlessness as he seemed to take pleasure in her confusion. “If you never intend on letting me leave, what is the point?” She countered his intellect before the corners of his lips lifted into a smirk. “You will meet my father in the morning and have dinner with me tonight as a confirmation of the agreement between us. You are welcome to anything in that closet but none of those thoughts I can see running behind your eyes.” “Can you blame me?” She inquired before rubbing her wrists from the binds having remained on her thin wrist for the better part of ten hours. “One day soon you will be pleading for me to keep you contained here...If not for the food...the wine..” As he continued to list items, he took a step closer to her until he was close enough to feel the breath leave her lips left agape to his words. “The scenery...the lavish spoils I promise you...then it will be for the way I excite you-For the way you will want me-” Her feet now closed the distance that had remained between them as she transitioned her piqued gaze into one of a softer variety. “I do want you…” She bit her lip in lust as he smirked at her, impressed with how easily she was already confessing her heart to him. “To leave me the hell alone and let me go back home!” She suddenly scolded him as she attempted to rush towards the door when he was otherwise distracted by her words still lingering in the air before she was stopped by the sight of two burly men blocking her from doing so. In a second, she turned to face her captor, who was now wearing a smile of pride. “I guarantee that you will wish to stay...Until then...Do not make things any harder for yourself. And sleep tight, Bella.” He moved beyond her, allowed to leave as the guards parted just long enough to observe him leaving with a billion dollar smile and a look of confidence as he was aware he had gotten to her. Annoyed with this, she waited until the door was closed and locked before throwing a wooden clock at the door until it broke into separate pieces-making her now see beyond the kind veil he placed of wishing to buy her trust and reminding her that she remained a victim to his imprisonment.
