Catriona walked close to Jay, holding his hand tightly.
"Calm down, Kitten." He whispered gently. Catriona looked up at him as they swung their hands together, "Is this too much?" She asked with a nervous look at the numerous bags they both held.
"Nope. You need enough clothes to last until spring and it's just now November." He said with a smile.
"You shouldn't spend all this money on me." She said as they walked into the shoe store.
"Yes, I should. Plus, you are my queen. You get this and more." Catriona met his blue eyes and felt her stomach beginning to bubble with butterflies. She was putty in his large hands.
"Fine." Catriona sighed in submission. He chuckled and led her around the store.
Four hours later, Catriona stood looking at the cats, while Jay talked.
"You were talkative earlier. What's wrong?" Jay looked down at me and grinned.
"Nothing." She lifted up a kitten.
"Ah, that one is a breed that doesn't grow much past the size that it is now. She's only a few weeks old. Isn't she cute?" The sales woman asked. Catriona nodded, cradling the show white kitten. It meowed softly and pureed before burying into her Catriona's neck. She was instantly in love.
"Is that the one you want, Kitten?" Catriona smiled and nodded, "Please, can I?" He chuckled and nodded. They grinned at each other before Jay nodded at the saleswoman.
"My kitten has a little kitten." He said teasingly as they walked to the cash register.
"Jay, thank you, thank you, thank you!" Catriona said with a smile before hopping up and pecking as close to his cheek as she could come: his forearm.
"If course. Anything for my little Kitten." He said before handing over his debit card.
"I love you." He whispered. Catriona smiled, "I love you too." The saleswoman stated at them for a moment.
"It's not usual to see such an involved couple so young."
"We've been together for as long as I can remember." He said with a smile as he draped his arm over Catriona.
"Here is the cats sheet. It lists the food and maintenance products we recommend. And we do give free collars and name tags in case your kitten ever gets lost. But you have to pick a name."
"Hm...Icicle." She said as she looked at the kitten. It stretched and purred.
"Okay. We just so happen to have a white color and a blue snowflake tag. How perfect." Catriona smiled as they waited before Icicle ram her rough tongue over one of Catriona's fingers.
"You'll have to keep her inside, okay? If any of the wolves-"
"Wolves? You live near the creek?" The woman asked as she came back.
"Near Odyseus' Lake. Catriona, I'll hold her while you out her collar on." Catriona nodded and shifted Icicle into Jay's waiting hands.
"Perfect." She said in her bell like voice.
"Just like you." Catriona giggled and took his hand, leading him to the car.
"Promise me something." Catriona whispered softly.
"Anything." Catriona smiled a little, " No matter what we'll always have each other. Promise me that."
"My Kitten, of course. Always." He leaned in and kisses Catriona tenderly, fire lighting in her body before boiling in the pit of her stomach. She leaned closer, losing herself in him.
"Catriona-" He sighed before they pulled away. She did her best to hide the ache of rejection and started to pet Icicle, or as Catriona decided to call her for short, Icy. Jay tangled his hand with hers and brought it to his lips.
"It may not seem like it, but right now, all my wolf wants is to get you in the backseat and make you his." Catriona's face burned as she looked down. Her hair made a thick curtain between them as she his her smile. It hadn't occurred to her until that moment that he pulled away because his control was slipping. Because he wanted her. Catriona was beaming the whole way back.
