Chapter 11However, when Arnie got home not only had Jason taken care of Mama and the puppies, he’d cleaned the house, rinsed the mound of dishes in the sink, and loaded them into the dishwasher—something he never did. Jason hated doing dishes. “Touching all that dried food is gross,” was his usual comment whenever Arnie had asked him to help.
Now’s not the time to bring up Collin asking me to live with him, Arnie decided. I’ll do it in the morning.
