I drew a sharp, gasping breath as I opened my eyes. The scent of the ancient forest was still surrounding me, and I sat up and stared in shock at the canopy of trees above me until I reasoned that Alpha Walker must have been close enough to the Packhouse to draw me into his dream again when he fell asleep here. I stood up, dusting the twigs and stones from my palms and leaning against a tree to get my bearings as I came to my senses and searched for him so I could follow him back to the Packhouse. The evidence of a makeshift campsite was littered at my feet and I caught his scent on a breeze in the direction of what sounded like a stream.
