Alpha Walker was still not back by the time the sun had set, but I was pulled back into his dream again and I was both relieved and furious when I saw him waiting for me in the entrance of the Packhouse. I wanted to slap him, but there was no way I would actually dare to do that, so I settled for remaining in the same spot by the door and refusing to approach him. It was childish, but that wasn't the point; I was not going to pretend that everything was OK, and I didn't want him to think it was acceptable to abandon me and everybody in his Pack for so long without telling them anything.
