My blood ran cold when I realized Alpha Walker had gone, and I hurriedly finished pulling on my dress and paced over to the edge of the clearing to look for him. I could still smell him - the heady scent of his fresh sweat was mingling with my own - but that was making it impossible to figure out where he had gone and when I took another step into the trees, I found the earthy scents of the forest were masking his trail completely.
