The moment Jay stepped into my room, I felt a mix of relief and anxiety wash over me. Just having him here made everything seem a little less dark, but I still worried about the situation with Lara. Before I could voice my thoughts, the door creaked open, and Cindy, my maid, slipped inside. Her eyes were wide, and she looked anxious.
