"What was that all about with Humbldore? It seemed as if he was about to eat you alive." Harry whispers close to a lost Mael who is searching for his seat, before pretending to be looking for his seat.
The Banquet Hall is filled with disrupted students who are looking impatient and waiting to get information on why they were called out from class. The six Houses have most students settled while others are trying to get into their seats.
"Nothing much. Just got the wrong side of his book. He has a wrong impression about me."
"He will find out with time that you are the best," tapping him generally on the shoulder. "I've to get back to my best before a very angry Humbledore sees me out of place."
"Yeah, right."
Both of them finds their seats and settles down.
Humbledore and the other professors are wearing a different robes, all black with a line of silver in the middle. Stepping in, everyone rises, bows and sits back down.
"I know that you are confused and questioning why your classes were interrupted. There's always an explanation." With a wave of her wand, doves begin to fly around the room. They look so innocent and beautiful.
"Ladies and gentle, Rabbi Humbledore."
A waving round of applause sounds throughout the hall.
"Thank you." He motions for the teachers and students to sit. "There will be some adjustments to the school's activity. Recitation has been cancelled till further notice. Everyone is banned from accessing the oak tree. Today is the last day that activities will end so late. Effective immediately, all activities end by six o'clock. You are not to be seen outside your dorms after the hour. Students who disobey will be severely punished, if not expelled. Vampires are to increase their training six-folds. Students with the power of ice or fire are to join commoners in their daily meditation routine. It is to teach you all about patience and fierceness. When and how to use both. Witches and Wizards are only to practice their magics under the strict supervision of Professor Mackenzie. Commoners are to open to the research facilities. As much as they want. What you want must go through your messenger as whatever that ever that comes in and goes out here will be thoroughly inspected. Further development will be communicated to you all."
He gracefully sits. Professor Mackenzie briefly whispers something into Humbledore's ear before speaking.
"The dinner for today will end at sharp right. Till then, enjoy your evening."
The teachers start eating their food and the students take it as their cue.
"What happened?" Mael asks a very sleepy Duke.
"Whenever changes like this occur, there is a problem. A................" Duke sleeps off.
"Mael?" Harry calls from his seat.
"What?" Mael glares.
"I found something interesting."
A cloaked figure is struggling to pull some fruits. The hem of its dress is hooked to a twig. It is so quiet and the road is dusty.
Four men dressed in armour with unfriendly faces joking about something that seems funny to them approach on horseback. One of them who looks like the one in charge, signals for others to stop. With two fingers he directs the men to spread out.
"Reveal yourself! You pathetic witch."
The cloaked figure immediately shows itself. It is a young girl with a lot of fruits in her hands. She is trembling. "I've done nothing wrong," she begs. "Let me go."
"You know that we can't do that. You are not supposed to be seen. Order from the Queen. Ah!"
"But I was hungry. Haven't eaten for days. My mother is sick," she pleads.
"You were also using magic. You know what happens when you do that!"
The one that looks like he is in charge draws his sword. Trying to get closer to the girl, a stone from nowhere hits him, distracting them.
"Run!" a boys voice shouts.
The little girl cloaks herself once more and scurries off. She keeps running until the man is away from sight.
