Twenty oneBreakout Vinnie Winters sat slumped in the swivel chair behind the large desk, half asleep, wrapped in a thick blanket. Across the room, in the tiny cell, the young Lieutenant snored. Outside, nothing stirred, an occasional dog barking from far away. Shifting position, trying to get comfortable, Vinnie silently cursed Fergusson for not choosing him to go across country to intercept the train with the others. He longed for adventure, something to break the monotony of a drab, dull life. Anything to bring change.
