SeventeenRevelations in the town of Burybridge After Cartwright stepped out from amongst the trees and called across to Simms, they made camp as the sun set. Deep Water examined Simms shoulder, told him to brace himself, and wrenched the joint back into its socket with an audible snap. Simms screeched in pain, flinging himself backwards, gritting his teeth. Gradually his face relaxed, anguish replaced with utter, joyous relief. He sat up and smiled his thanks as Deep Water wrapped a firm dressing, fashioned from strips torn from an old shirt, around the detective's damaged shoulder to help with recovery.
